Felucia Rancor Graveyard

Hidden in Felucia’s jungle lies a two hundred meter expanse marking the ancient burial site of this world’s deadliest creatures and the location of innumerable remnants of hundreds, if not thousands of rancors. A circular enclosure of sun-bleached bones are arranged in the center of the cemetery—no doubt the former dwelling of a powerful practitioner of the Force. Cobwebs cling to the fallen beasts, a testament to the primordial age of some of the creatures.

Somewhat obscured by surrounding cliffs and the luminescent jungle, the dusted bones and carcasses are cast in a faint shadow, leaving just enough light to see by. The atmosphere is thick and stifling, with a strong overtone of dust and bone suspended in the still air. The taint of the Dark Side's influence has polluted the landmark over time, giving form to a dreadful aura that has scared off scavengers hoping to sell off a rancor tusk or two. Unlike most of Felucia, the area is nearly devoid of life aside from ravenous predators dwelling within the hollowed-out husks of dead rancors.

Jedi Master Shan San Saraam sat amongst the bones in meditation. Through the Living Force the residue of reverberations from the once alive echoed from their remains. It was a form of Divination the culture of his kind had imparted upon those Force sensitive. Through it he was given sight, both near and far. Through what seemed as a blurred and slow passage of events Harmony fired just as the sound wave of blaster fire reached Master Saraam's ears. Echolocation pinpointed the round's direction, and the Jedi waved a blade of purple plasma and deflected a golden bolt into the ground. Those attuned to Telepathy could hear the humm of awakened rancor in a quiet distance within their mind. The Dug gave a confident smirk and sat back into his meditation stance and closed his eyes.

"Dank Farrick" Creon muttered in frustration. It had been his third attempt, each from different locations. He rose at the pace that barely exposed the translucent shift of his body under his armor's camouflage generation system. He aimed his rifle and launched through its attached launcher a heavy explosive. The "thoomp" sound it made made Master Sharaam's ear twitch. The Dug stretched its legs and through his heels amplified he sprinted into a gallop like the Ikopi of Naboo. The Jedi shifted his feet and hips to rotate 180 once out of the explosive's blast radius. Both lightsabers ignited and Saraam leaped high towards the direction he heard its launch from the barrel. Creon dashed forward with the Force once seeing the near flying Dug and with a short burst given by his jetpack. He landed where Saraam had leapt and left behind him a trail of whistling birds. A flicker of him was revealed through the movement until the armor's camouflage reactivated. Through the Maruader's awareness each mini rocket was pinpointed and from a spinning flurry from a kata of Vapaad they were dissipated. Thick primordial tusks shielded him from Creon's rifle's rapid fire. He dashed from tusk to husk that were thick enough to shield him from Creon's bullets that trailed behind his movement. Once Creon spotted the Dug's approach to nearly ten meters away, he took flight just as the blur of Saraam's sabers nearly cross-slashed his boots. During Creon's ascension the Force telekinetically called forth the thermal detonator from his utility belt, he activated the explosive and dropped it to Saraam below. In response Saraam retreated back behind cover, retracted his blades, and shrouded from sight under a Force cloaking technique.

"Dank Farrick!" Creon shouted with stress trying to aim his vambrace below where he last saw his target now lost to him. He landed a safe distance from the encounter and landed. His stealth device coated him nigh invisible once his thrusters had stopped. He took a knee and looked through his rifle's scope under infrared. A sweeping scan of the area showed nothing. Creon ensured a new explosive round was reloaded from a pouch on his utility belt and activated his personal energy shield generator. Until his target is spotted, he focused on using his telekinesis to plant ricochet disks amongst the graveyard's surrounding structure.
