The Godless Matron was once a Trade Federation battleship, crewed by countless droid workers. Since then, many sections of the ship have fallen into disrepair due to the sheer amount of manpower involved in its maintenance. As a result, parts of the central sphere of the Lucrehulk-class battleship has been left to the ravages of time and the scars of the Clone War itself.

The crew has come to refer to this section of the Matron as The Gauntlet, largely due to the danger it represents. Located in the lower regions of the command sphere, it is a crosshatched network of ruined and damaged hallways, repair bays, and even crew quarters. While most power has been shut off to this section — save for critical systems such as life support — the systems and circuitry still require occasional maintenance in order to keep the entire framework operational. Such tech runs have become a matter of betting amongst the crew, earning it the nickname: running the gauntlet.

A heavy layer of dust sits mostly undisturbed along the debris of the halls, save for the footprints of the few crew that have tread the path before. These previously walked paths are a safety net for those who venture into The Gauntlet unknowingly. It is also thought that the remaining Separatist forces staged a last ditch defense within this area of the ship, and did so by any means necessary. Many traps, ranging from explosives to spring-loaded mechanisms, are littered throughout the untraveled pathways — or even still undisturbed within the known sections. Further still, malfunctioning B1 droids and even semi-active Spy Drones remain, ready to ambush the unsuspecting observer and adding to the dangers of the dark, debris filled tomb The Gauntlet has become.

Space close to Uvena Prime.

The starship was quiet, only with the sound of the clawed fur paws, tapping at the keyboard, making notes and looking for new offers for mercenaries from trade companies.

“Collection of the Strange Looking Red Crystals for credits” - boring…

“Spy mission to proof fake information about arrival of the new false Gods” - boring…

“Collebaration in uncovering of the new found ancient Oracle Sanctuary at Jedha” - boring…

Archian was scrolling through the offers at the screen. “Borcatu” - Simple, short but the most interesting word caught his eyes. Immediately his finger pushed at the screen, opening the details of the offer.

“Hunt and extermination of Borcatu from the Godless Matron Battleship in exchange for credits, meat and silage.” His eyes opened wide and immediately clicked at the acceptance of the job - he couldn't pass this kind of the job and would regret not getting a source of food for his animals.

The engine of the starship engaged.

Godless Matron, The Gauntlet.

The scrap of the metal was laying around, all rusty and making Archian itchy when imagining a bad infection he could acquire, if getting wounded by accident with it.

All areas looked like a Bantha Cheese - full of holes, which was the perfect environment for Borcatu. A quiet shimmering of their claws was echoing around, hiding inside the narrow tunnels, feeding at the small rodents and death carcasses of killed by Spy Drones and explosive traps.

Archian turned at the creatures slowly following him, sliding across the floor at metal parts. He didn't need speed here, but a good endurance and flexibility, that's why the Duracrete Slug was a good choice as a support for the hunt.

He whistled at the Slug and Flom slowly disappeared inside of the hole in the floor. Archian kneeled next to it, listening for indication in which direction the bad tempered scavenger would run to escape. The shadow covered his eyes, and citrus coloured eyes looked at the source.

The Shaevalian with cybernetic replaced body parts was staring at him, holding still alive Borcatu in the arm. Creature was trying desperately to bite him, but it was in the hard grasp.

“So I was not the only one who accepted the job?” He asked rhetorically.

“That’s inconvenient. I thought the job was a one time offer only, but I assume Borcatu's colony is too large here for one pair of hands.” Archian spoke.

“Looks like it.” Celevon looked, smiling at the furious Borcatu.

Small creature fell down from the hole of the ceiling between them with a slam at the floor, looking at them with confusion. Archian quickly released his whip, grabbed the small body with it, and squeezed life out of it. He attached a carcass to his side belt.

The rumble could be heard around them, and a sluggish tail passed visibly from the same hole as the now dead creature had fallen.

Shistavanen and Shaevalian looked up, and then at each other.

“Let the better win and earn more money. May the hunt be good for you.” He said detaching the bow from his back.
