Savannah

When you are traversing the wild and untouched landscapes of the savannah, just remind yourself that you are never the apex predator. The vast and desolate area of sand, rocks, dead and ancient trees are all the same blood-orange color for a simple reason: to hide your worst nightmare from your sight, the Akul. A large, bipedal and orange furred mammal, the Akul are the top predators that hunt all sorts of bovine, dog, hooved and giant mammals. Using their extraordinary sense of smell, they can trace your scent from days long past and track you down without mercy.

Savannah

Throughout the Savannah, tall and wispy Turu-grass stretches out into long ranging fields. Watering holes are sparse and spread thin, and the terrain offers little safety from the blazing sun that hangs overhead. When the sun retreats and gives way to moonlight, the Savannah becomes almost chill, but the night is dark and full of wild creatures. In the Savannah, it’s hunt or be hunted.

Aimlessly traversing the savannah of red and white, Armad let the Force lead him as dusk descended upon the plains. He knew that there would be predators that came out in the darkness, and he had his senses to their max as he wandered along. His danger sense alerted him to an imminent threat to himself coming from his left side. Snapping his head in that direction, he caught the briefest of glimpses of orange fur as it leapt up out of the tall grass, a mouth full of sharp teeth bearing down on him. Stepping forward, Armad turned towards the Akul, and swung his lightsaber upwards through the Akul's neck, killing it instantly as it’s forward momentum carried it another few feet before it crashed into the ground, sliding a couple of feet before it came to a stop in a crumpled heap. Walking up to the predator of Shili, he poked it in it’s chest cavity for good measure. Expanding his senses out as far as he could managed, Armad sought to find any other predators that just might have been around to witness the death of one of their own.

While he was able to feel at least two others in his immediate sphere of influence, Armad had a very strong urge to spin around bring his lightsaber up in a defensive manner. As his blade was coming into position, an energy blast ricocheted hard off his blade, causing him to lose his defensive stance. With his blade out of position, Armad had no chance of blocking any subsequent shots fired at him, which was unfortunate as there was one. He didn’t have time to try and deflect it with the Force, so he did the next best thing, he fell. Dropping onto his back, he watched as the bolt shot over him. Rolling to his left, Armad came up to his feet once again in a defensive stance, looking back the way the bolts had come from. What he saw was a dark figure running towards him with a blaster aimed at him, firing shot after shot at him, but since he was now able to pinpoint where the shots were coming from, he was able to deflect them with greater ease off his lightsaber.

The dark figure must have realized that none of their shots were getting through, so they abandoned the blaster, tossing it aside. The figure reached into their robes and pulled out an object, which became apparent that it was a lightsaber when they ignited it and a purple blade sprang forth. Risking a glance behind him, he could sense the other two Akul were now beginning to circle to either side, on the hunt. Turning his attention back to the figure almost upon him, Armad set himself for the first pass of attacks. “That was my kill, I’d been tracking that thing for the better part of the day, and now you’ve spooked the others.” An angry female voice announced as she jumped for an overhead attack.

Pivoting backwards and to the right, Armad redirected her blade towards the ground, and brought his left knee up to knee her in he rear to get some separation between them. “It tried to kill me, so I returned the favor, didn’t know you were out there hunting it.” He said matter of factually.

Regaining her balance, she turned and readied herself for a duel. She had come around to have right foot back with her left side towards him. “You could have easily avoided it’s attack and left it to me.” She shouted. Her saber was held aloft with her left hand and blade pointed towards him.

“So it’s to be Soresu is it,” Armad thought, as he turned to present her with a small silhouette, his right foot pointed towards her while his back foot was set firmly. Armad extended his right arm straight out towards her, but held his left arm against the small of his back, ready to be used for counter-balance should the need arise. “Like I said, didn’t sense you were out there until you started shooting at me.” Armad deadpanned, he pulled on his anger to refreshed himself in the Force and focused his thoughts on ending this quickly. “Come, let’s see what you’ve got.” Armad taunted his already enraged opponent.
