Savannah

When you are traversing the wild and untouched landscapes of the savannah, just remind yourself that you are never the apex predator. The vast and desolate area of sand, rocks, dead and ancient trees are all the same blood-orange color for a simple reason: to hide your worst nightmare from your sight, the Akul. A large, bipedal and orange furred mammal, the Akul are the top predators that hunt all sorts of bovine, dog, hooved and giant mammals. Using their extraordinary sense of smell, they can trace your scent from days long past and track you down without mercy.

Savannah

Throughout the Savannah, tall and wispy Turu-grass stretches out into long ranging fields. Watering holes are sparse and spread thin, and the terrain offers little safety from the blazing sun that hangs overhead. When the sun retreats and gives way to moonlight, the Savannah becomes almost chill, but the night is dark and full of wild creatures. In the Savannah, it’s hunt or be hunted.

Lucyeth trekked among the tall grasses that seemed to inhabit an infinite area of the planet. The navigation computer called Stili but the warrior felt it should be called something otherwise based on the intense heat of the savannah. The Palatinaean thought he had been walking in the heat of the planet for a while and the savannah grass gave no favors to the best course of direction to take. The warrior feared for his survival from when he got off the ship. He had no water and he realized that unless he found a settlement of some type, he was not going to find it.

"I need to get out of the heat," the Palatinaean thought to himself. The sun continued to beat down as Lucyeth wiped the dry sweat off of his forehead. He pressed on to find something out on this forsaken planet. The warrior’s prayers were answered at an opening in the tall grass. He sprinted to finally get out of this terrible grass into a clearing on the savannah. The clearing was nothing but a bare spot in the grass.

“Sithspit! Where am I,” Lucyeth swore to himself under his breath. A sound in the grass took the Palatinaean out of his train of thought.

It didn’t sound a comforting or welcoming sound. The Warrior ran back into the grass but the predatory sound would not stop as it followed. Lucyeth did a three sixty of his perimeter but failed to spot what stalked him. The warrior shed his robe and threw it on the ground in the hopes that it would throw his predator off his trial. Lucyeth walked slowly through the tall grass but the nasty noises failed to stop. The Palatinaean broke into a sprint to out run the strange creature but it was too late. The beast tackled the warrior into the dry dirt as a mysterious bi-pedaled monster was in attack mode. The warrior’s wrist caught the beast in the throat with the sharp teeth bared at a mere inches from his face. The Palatinaean put all strength into his legs as the beast was hurled off of the warrior’s body. Lucyeth was back onto his feet right as the beast charged. The warrior lit his lightsaber with its crimson hue and hacked in front of his body with a diagonal slash. The creature fell in a heap on the ground.

After the confrontation with the local wildlife, Lucyeth moved on with his journey across the vast Savannah. His target was a tree within the army of grass that poked through. It was not far but movement in the grass forced the warrior to move quickly toward the tree. Once the Palatinaean was at the tree, he was not alone. A a male human with short brown hair accompanied him at the tree. It was obvious he was out in the savannah on the hunt for someone or something but Lucyeth didn’t care as long as he came out of it as he stared. The warrior’s hand dropped to his waist; prepared for whatever came his way.
