You enter one of the dozens of sparring chambers within the Shadow Academy of Lyspair, the simple square room utilized mostly by those learning the ways of the lightsaber. This five hundred square-foot room, rectangular in shape, is nearly barren. The floor is lined with simple padding, while the walls are made of dull, grey durasteel, gauged by innumerable lightsaber strikes, scarring the metal permanently.

The ceiling towers above you, nearly twenty feet in height, allowing for plenty of movement from the more acrobatic of Force users. There are no other adornments within the room, save for the entrance and lighting that bathes the entire room, yet seems to come from nowhere. All corners of the room are perfectly lit, with no visible shadows to speak of. There is nowhere for you to hide within the room, but… there's no room for your opponent to hide either.

Xantros enterred one of many sparring rooms of the Shadow Academy. It was very large and simple without any ornaments on walls or the ceiling, unless one considered lightsaber markings as ornaments. What was more, the room was completely empty. Though it provided a lot of space to avoid attacks with acrobatic moves, there was no place to hide and focus. It was definitely a disadvantage, which the Duro noticed immediately.

When the Ranger was standing in the middle of the room, lookng around and smiling politely, he suddenly heard the sound of opening door. He still smiled politely, as he noticed his opponent entering the room. It was Padawan Gui Sol, who was young Kiffar male.

„Welcome, Padawan,” spoke the Duro. „Are you are ready for your lesson about more subtle ways of fighting the enemies of the light side?”

„I guess that I have challenged you to learn it,” answered the Kiffar.

Xantros stayed in his place in the center of the room without making any move, while Gui Sol took out his dual vibroknives and took a stance with his left leg twenty centimeters in front of his right leg. They carefully observed each other, awaiting for the first attack of the duel. They stood like that for two minutes, before the Padawan made few steps to get to the Duro close enough to attack him.

The Ranger smiled and released energies of the Force, which he had been gathering for last two minutes, to create a powerful illusion. He observed the Padawan, who suddenly stopped and started to dodge attacks with swift jumps, cartwheels and slides. Kiffar's mind managed to overcome the illusion around five minutes later. Still, Gui Sol's breath was a bit faster than at the beginning of the duel.

„Lesson number one – an illusion may be make your enemy equally tiring as real attacks,” explained Xantros, smiling politely, and awaited for another attack from his opponent.
