An esoteric soul, Jim Nova is a unique being. Blonde hair, the color of the wheat fields of Corellia is trimmed in a way that says party in the front as well as the back. Kept shorter on the top, the back is longer, falling to his shoulders, while the sides are shaved close to his scalp, with three horizontal lines etched into the left side for added flair. Best described as 'the mullet'. His eyes are an icy blue and his brow is typically cocked with an arrogant swagger. Pale skin is kept pasty due to his time spent on Starships but is unblemished save for the oozing skull tattoo on his right forearm which is the symbol of his former street gang. He has an angular face that flows into a pointed chin and resting above his smirking mouth is a trimmed moustache. Of slender build, he keeps in shape despite being typically confined to smaller dwellings and partaking in savory night-life luxuries.
Jim Nova is a master of the 'tricks of the trade' - the cheating and stealing trade, that is. With a certain propensity and natural talent for stealth and thievery, Jim Nova is a professional when it comes to crimes, from minor to major. Sometimes it is as simple as a few more favorable cards in a hand to a set of sticky fingers to something as big as a heist. Either way, Jim Nova knows his way around a job. However, everyone is bound to get caught eventually, and reputations have a way of finding a way to bite you in the rear. . . not to mention those looking to extract a little vengeance.
Jim Nova does not charge a high price because he has to pay for a life of luxury; he charges a high price because he knows that he is the best in the game and worth the credits. Those who do not know Jim Nova will feel he is gouging them, but those who have seen him in action know that he always delivers. This bravado follows Jim Nova around and builds on the success of completed jobs and can be off-putting to other Mercenaries that will try and lash back by pointing out his failures.
Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Jim Nova has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Jim Nova to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Jim Nova will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.
Jim Nova is very cheerful and happy, and always looks on the bright side of life. When chewing on life’s gristle, he doesn't grumble, but gives a whistle. He always hopes for the best, and enjoys laughing, smiling, dancing or singing. This unending optimism often improves the morale and spirit of everyone around him, and Jim Nova is always quick with a smile or a joke, even when drawing his terminal breath. This same exuberance can also be tiring to more jaded curmudgeons.
When Jim Nova gets in trouble, he finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that he tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for his compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made him the most popular among his peers, but hey, at least Jim Nova isn't dead yet.
Jim Nova's passion for technology extends beyond his talent with Slicing. He truly believes that wars can be won with technology, not soldiers, and will always try to avoid direct combat if he can afford it. Instead, he prefers to deploy clever traps with Explosives, or turn technology against others as a weapon. Jim Nova would rather overload a circuit breaker to shock a guard into submission than to test his luck with his hands or a blaster. If removed from technology or his gadgets, however, Jim Nova can easily be overwhelmed. Fortunately, he has no qualms with throwing a smoke grenade down and running for dear life.
