a tall young man with shoulder-length dark brown hair and brown eyes a short goatee, white skin and an athletic build, broad shoulders. and also several scars on his body (almost can't be seen because he's always in armor), and one in particular on the lower right corner of his lip that he tries to hide with his beard.
Someone in Vailhanz’s past was killed and he has vowed to avenge their death. Should the object of his vengeance be discovered, he is likely to to do whatever he can to exact revenge, no matter the cost.
While Vailhanz will see a job through to its conclusion and put forward his best effort, it’s still just a job. Vailhanz's true loyalties lie to his friends, and through thick and thin,he will stand by them and die for them if needed. This loyalty is reserved for those who have earned Vailhanz's trust, putting him at odds with other Mercenaries that are only doing a job for the money. This also makes it harder for employers to trust his motives, often times creating extra competition and difficulty finding work. None of it matters to Vailhanz, though, because loyalty to his friends is not something credits can buy.
Vailhanz is a lateral thinker, and when he encounters problems or dilemmas, he is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Vailhanz to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Vailhanz can typically explain and lead others through his plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust him outside thinking.
Vailhanz prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While he is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, he toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.
Vailhanz possesses a single minded drive for victory, and a deep-seated martyr complex. When presented with a chance to wade into battle versus overwhelming odds, Vailhanz does not hesitate, and instead rushes in, relying on skill, fate or chance to let him survive.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Vailhanz takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Vailhanz tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
