Kai is a tall, wiry, youth. Taking after his father, whom he bares a striking resemblance to, he has copper highlights in his light brown hair which he wears down in a messy fashion. This hides the small scar on the upper part of his forehead from when he was a child. Kai is athletically fit while not muscular sporting a golden tan from his outdoor activities. Though, taking after his mom, if he doesn't stay outdoors his skin becomes quite pale. His olive colored eyes are usually wide open, taking in his surrounding with a youthful curiosity. While he laughs like his father; it's a warm and welcoming laugh and not dismissive or judgmental.
Kai Lap'lamiz has a hero complex. He wants to be the champion of the little person, whether they're someone knocked down on the sidewalk to a culture being oppressed by the Empire. He will always stop what he is doing to help someone in need, even if that delays or negatively impacts a task he's been assigned. He'll interject himself into situations if he perceives someone is being picked on and needs saving. This often leads to escalating situations due to his misperception of what has occurred.
Every legendary story seems to have at least one charming and optimistic character. If that's the case, then it only makes sense that Kai Lap'lamiz has decided to be that person. After all, if everyone is too busy whining and groaning about the negatives, how will anyone ever reach the positive? True, Kai Lap'lamiz's constant belief that things will get better can be terribly grating, especially to pessimists or those just level-headed enough to realize when things truly are going downhill, but Kai Lap'lamiz's constant positive outlook can serve to sometimes spur others to action when it feels like the world just wants them to lay down and die.
Kai Lap'lamiz prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While he is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, he toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.
Kai Lap'lamiz is extremely cocksure and headstrong. Possessing a keen wit and exceptional level of intelligence, Kai Lap'lamiz will often snap to decisions without considering all view points and available information. Once committed to a course of action it's very hard to get him to stop and reconsider, even if what he's doing is detrimental to his objectives.
Kai Lap'lamiz doesn't like to kill people; instead he chooses to injure his opponent until that person is unable to fight back or is otherwise incapacitated.
Through careful study and dedication to isolated martial-combat, Kai Lap'lamiz has turned the act of dueling into an art form. A keen eye and attention to detail allows him the ability to learn their opponent's idiosyncrasies while fighting. Kai Lap'lamiz then uses his own skills to capitalize on the opponent's weakness. Because of this calculated approach to isolated duels, Kai Lap'lamiz has a harder time taking on multiple opponents at once at higher skill levels.
