When looking at Colyn "Tusken" Skybender, you see every inch the career soldier he is. Skybender's face is extremely aged and weathered, his skin taking on the leathery look of someone who has spent too much time making a life in more rugged environments. The size and set of his shoulders betray that this is a man who has worked hard through his life.
His slate grey eyes seem to be constantly squinted against the sunlight, whether he is in a bright room or in full darkness, and they possess the quality of a bird of prey, always moving and evaluating weakness. His closely cropped black hair is starting to pepper through with grey here and there, and is beginning to noticeably recede upon the crown of his head.
While he is normally seen wearing the standard issue uniform of the Iron Throne's armed forces, when off-duty he favours light colours, reminiscent of his home world's palette. Colyn keeps a lightsaber clipped to his belt, a blaster pistol in a holster opposite it, and a blaster rifle slung over his back.

Skybender is famous for being a brutal disciplinarian. His time in the Imperial Army has taught him one simple thing, that when push comes to shove, it's the man who has the most discipline that survives to the end of the day. When dealing with other people, Skybender expects the absolute best from people, and will punish them without any hesitation if they come up short. This leads to Skybender's troops being some of the best trained and disciplined troops out there, but of course, everyone who's ever met him has at least fantasized about murdering him in cold blood.
A life spent on the desert world of Tatooine, followed by a long career in the armed services has transformed Skybender's body and mind into a rock solid edifice. Capable of pushing his body and soul to the extreme, Skybender is often accused to being without compassion or weakness due to his nature.
Skybender's ethos when it comes to life is that nothing should ever be done by half measures. While generally he manages to stay aloof and separate from personal entanglements, when he does get embroiled in them they are done fully. Whether it be positive or negative emotions, Skybender is unwavering, and his opinion does not change. His few actual relationships are thus either characterized by utter devotion, or endless hatred.
Colyn Skybender was born on the desert world of Tatooine under the harsh and unrelenting twin suns of that world. Growing up in such a hot climate has made him extremely uncomfortable in colder temperatures. Despite being a hard person to deal with at the best of times, when Skybender is cold he becomes an absolute nightmare.
Despite having a dormant Force talent for his entire life, Skybender was unaware of his hidden talents until he joined the Army of the Iron Throne and was located by the Grand Master's agents within the organization. Having received some training in the Dark Jedi arts, Skybender chose to utterly reject the lifestyle and continue on being a soldier. His devotion to his trade means that when in combat, he is almost completely unlikely to actively employ anything but standard soldiering techniques.
A lifetime of discipline and following orders has impressed on Skybender an iron-clad will. No matter what the odds against him or his troops are, he will maintain the line as long as he has been ordered to do so. Despite the fact that following orders blindly will likely get him killed at some point, he knows and trusts that the people in charge will never throw his life away meaninglessly.
