Be it during a fight or life in general, moral compass means little to Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis. If you don’t want a person harmed, you had better specify. General terms mean nothing to him as Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis only deals in specifics. If the rules of a duel say you can’t shoot before the count of three? A grenade over the shoulder is fair game, then. Tell Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis to stop someone at all costs, well, you better not be concerned if they’re brought back dead or alive.
Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis looks at any problem he comes across and instead of immediately complaining about it sets out to figuring out a solution. He will work tirelessly to find workarounds or a solution, but can often overthink the resolution and come up with a "fix" that is actually more complex than needed. This driven approach to fixing problems can be helpful at times but grating at others when a simple "restart" would have accomplished the task quicker than re-programming the entire device.
Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis would much rather be behind a hand of good sabacc cards or a rare vintage of aged liquor than with his blasters or ship. More often than not, he will spend nights at high-end establishments gambling, drinking and "socializing". Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis can survive without the finer things, but he sure would rather not. This preference follows him onto the job, so it is not uncommon for Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis to insult a client or potential partner by commenting on their choice of beverage or recreation.
Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis has been patching up the wounded for years as a Medic and has come to the conclusion that more often than not, the injuries are either self inflicted or deserved. While he will always work tirelessly on behalf of his patient in an ongoing quest to preserve all life, that doesn’t stop him from scolding or belittling patients that he feels should know better than to walk into a rancor pit with a bucket of raw meat. Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis teeters on the line between compassion and supporting selective evolution, which can make him come off as less friendly or inviting than other medics.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
Without the gift of the Force, Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis has trained rigorously with a wide range of melee weaponry and technology to better handle opponents that are able to harness the mythical power. Marcus "The Chemist" Ignis has been conditioned to fight against foes that are Force-sensitive and are able to compensate against fighting an adversary wielding something as deadly as a lightsaber. While this adaptive combat training makes him lethal in close quarters combat against any kind of threat, they are still at the mercy of a long ranged fighter, assailant or Force user that prefers to attack the mind instead of the body.
