When one looks upon Kurs'ika the first thing they probably notice is the simple black blindfold which dips inward as it passes over her vestigial eye sockets. Though upon moving from the obviously alien to the more human, it becomes apparent that she looks akin to many other adolescent girls of a near-human variety that are nearing adulthood. Possessing the typical form of two arms and legs, no missing digits, and a full set of teeth you'd be forgiven if you looked away and only saw your average teenager. Yet the shoulder length red hair, worn with her bangs loosely moving with the breeze in front of her right eye, is clearly styled to make her look tougher. Her face, which is filled in by an average looking but slightly bent nose and full lips, has a slight red tinge about the cheeks which shows through her lightly tanned pale skin. Her athletic body which shows obvious signs of muscles underneath the skin, possesses a mix of faded to fresh scars ranging from simple healed cuts to long and thick lines indicate the myriad old wounds and recently healed injuries earned through a hard early life and a dangerous or risky present. Thus upon having taken the time to stare long enough, the full details of this nearly young adult become apparent.
Kursika can be very protective, and when any of her friends are being bullied or threatened, she will step in to defend them. This can gets Kursika in trouble when she refuses to back down during these exchanges, and sometimes has trouble discerning between friendly teasing and intentional insults. However, because of this fierce loyalty, her friends know that no matter what, Kursika will be there for them.
Kursika somehow always finds herself in tricky situations that put her in over her head. As such, Kursika always seems to be digging herself out of some kind of dilemma. While this speaks to Kursika’s ability to think outside the box to find solutions, her moral code often gets in the way of taking the easy way out.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Kursika's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. She becomes focused and quiet, with her smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Kursika has a very bad attitude. She enjoys picking fights and causing trouble, and as such, she isn't phased by most encounters because, let's face it: she tends to be involved in quite a few of them around here!
Kursika works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Kursika has learned to not take jabs about her stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for her inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Kursika's discipline of never overestimating her own abilities or those of her opponents. She has trained to fully utilize her size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. She knows exactly how to leverage her weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Kursika becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Kursika? Kursika doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Kursika, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Kursika isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Kursika won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Kursika will still be winning, the best and most dirty way she knows how.
