From her family's heritage on Iloh, Emere has an olive tint to her skin. On both arms, from the top of her shoulders down to her wrists, she has a maze of tribal tattoos that represent her family's lineage and preserve the dwindling numbers of her culture. Galo has long, black and straight hair that curls at frayed edges which is usually tied back in a neat bun.
Emere has strong features with high cheekbones, a defined jawline that meets at a rounded chin, and eyebrows that form a tight crease in the middle of her forehead. Beneath her eyebrows are hooded almond-shaped eyes that are dark brown, nearly black, a trait inherited from her mother. In between her eyes is the straight bridge of her nose that comes to a rounded, slightly upturned end. The corners of her mouth have a slight crease from her seemingly perpetual frown. With her average frame, she is surprisingly lean, the muscles in her arms, legs, and abdomen clearly defined from constant training.
All over her lean frame, scars make themselves known but are not a prominent feature. She has small scrapes and scratches from her childhood, a faint scar that forms a line in between her ribcage from an emergency heart surgery, and some on her right arm and right side of her ribcage from an attempt to protect herself from an explosion, which, are no longer visible on her arm because they were filled back in with tattoo ink.
Emere has never seen the use in looking ‘beautiful’. She prefers to have a basic appearance.
Emere Galo can be very protective, and when any of her friends are being bullied or threatened, she will step in to defend them. This can gets Emere Galo in trouble when she refuses to back down during these exchanges, and sometimes has trouble discerning between friendly teasing and intentional insults. However, because of this fierce loyalty, her friends know that no matter what, Emere Galo will be there for them.
Emere Galo is extremely competitive and strives to become the best at every task she is given. The benefit of this cutthroat approach to life and work is that she will always give 100%, pushing herself to her physical or mental limits to overcome any task. However, Emere Galo’s overzealous ambition makes her insufferable to all but the most patient of companions, making it difficult to make friends while she either proves successful or utterly fails at being the best.
Emere Galo tells it like she sees it, when she thinks it; and she doesn't try to sugar coat what she says.
Emere Galo manages to always see the down side to every silver-lining, joyous occasion, or victory. Where some may see a boon, Emere Galo will often see the curse accompanying it, just around the corner.Emere Galo's constant pessimism can often lead to conflict and the annoyance of those around her, not to mention the dampening of spirits. However, this mindset is not without its benefits, for a pessimist is far more likely to be prepared for the worst and be left unscathed by it - after all, none are more prepared for the worst case scenario than the ones expecting it all along.
Emere Galo possesses a single minded drive for victory, and a deep-seated martyr complex. When presented with a chance to wade into battle versus overwhelming odds, Emere Galo does not hesitate, and instead rushes in, relying on skill, fate or chance to let her survive.
Through a mixture of cocksure courage and arrogant swagger, Emere Galo will not back down from a challenge when called out, even if the wiser path is to walk away or let it go. Emere Galo's personality does tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way, which generally puts her into situations that escalate quickly to violence. While she may not be the one to always start a fight, she will always see it through to it’s conclusion. Some have tried to play a challenge off as idle banter, but when Emere Galo initiates or accepts a challenge, she does not hold back.
