Physical Description

Adalinde is a Human female standing slightly taller than average. Her skin is on the pale end of the spectrum, best described as porcelain. The expanse of her left arm is interrupted by a greyish-green serpent tattoo that curls around her bicep, along her back, and over her shoulder for the head to rest on the left side of her chest. She has a series of circuity-esque tattoos ranging from a series of lines running from above her left eye and down her cheek, from her bottom lip to her chin, covering her right forearm, and spreading across her chest and midsection. It even extends to her back like strands of electronic wings working from her neck to the base of her spine. One final tattoo can be found upon her left thigh, a series of red roses entwined in thorny, green vines. Her crimson hair is completely shaved on the right side, revealing the vicious tapestry of burns over that side of her face. The rest of her hair is kept shoulder length and swept to the left side. Her piercing, icy blue stare is all the more vibrant when juxtaposed against her skin. Her lips are also a deep red that nearly matches her hair. Adalinde's face is best described as angular with sharp features. Despite the omnipresent grimace, her high cheekbones and narrow nose enhance her features. She also speaks with a thick aristocratic accent that has difficulty fully pronouncing some aspects of basic.

You're Scarred Too (General Aspect)

Having given herself over to the dark side's corruption, Adalinde has become a beautiful monster. She accepts her own broken self and believes that everyone is just as broken, even if she can't see their scars. So why bother fighting her nature? She embraces it without hesitation, making it her modus operandi.

With her facial burns fully on display, Adalinde greets the galaxy as a teasing and sensual predator with a taste for the macabre and a fiery temper. She plays with the 'prey' around her, seeing they are the same as her and just need to be drawn out. This leaves her isolated and reviled in equal measure, but that's okay. She can always play with them once their heads have been freed from their necks.

Know Your Role (General Aspect)

Raised to believe that everything and everyone has a place in the structure of society that they will always be relegated to, Adalinde has struggled to find her own place after her initial path was disrupted. Now that she has adopted the role of Inquisitor, Adalinde believes she has her place. She is utterly devoted to whatever task is placed in front of her and her ambitions are only to move up within its ranks, never beyond it.

In fact, she is generally unsympathetic to those who succumb to ambition. It was those who were jealous of Adalinde's good fortune that brought ruin to her. Such knowledge makes it hard for her to see anything else in others who seek to claim more than their role deserves. As a result, her focus is not just on excelling within her position, but also preserving the 'order of things' around her.

A Fool's Bargain (Personality Aspect)

Trust is the currency of fools. It has been used as a tool in order to manipulate and cause harm to Adalinde again and again. She refuses to allow it to be used ever again. She is extremely hostile towards others and highly suspicious of people's intentions, to the point of almost paranoia. That said, it isn't completely impossible to attain a measure of trust from Adalinde. Over time, she will draw her own conclusions of others based on how their actions compare to their words.

She aims to perceive the truth of things with her own eyes, as distrustful and scrutinizing as the most ruthless of interrogators. As a result, she seems to always be staging an inquisition which puts her at odds with others. Adalinde will ask any and all questions, regardless of how impolite or scathing they may be. Anything to avoid being made the fool again.

Simply Born Better (Personality Aspect)

Despite her fall from status, Adalinde has never been able to fully shake off the culture instilled in her since birth. As a result, she remains very much a picture of aristocracy. Her manners, in terms of etiquette at least, are impeccable and she expects much the same of others. Alongside that expectation is the feeling of superiority over those who don't manage the minimum level of standards.

Because of this, Adalinde has difficulty in recognizing her own cruelties. Not that she overly cares to begin with. Her temper is more easily flared by those she deems unworthy of her attention, though it is always simmering just under the surface regardless.

To The Pain (Combat Aspect)

It isn't enough to merely defeat an opponent. That is where the battle of the body is lost. Adalinde isn't satisfied with that alone. The victory must be complete and she must break her opponent entirely. Mentally as well as physically. The desire comes from the suffering she, herself, endured and now inflicts on others, perpetuating the cycle of negativity.

This instinct is all-consuming to the point that Adalinde will even withhold the killing blow if she has been unable to satisfactorily shatter her opponent's spirit. She will incapacitate them instead, before quite literally engaging in torture. The greatest risk that comes with this tendency of hers is that of finding herself utterly focused on a target strong of will, eschewing other threats in favor of tunnel vision and blind spots.

A Vicious Circle (Combat Aspect)

Adalinde fights true to her nature. A creature of pain and pleasure. She derives enjoyment from both receiving and inflicting pain on others. It's when she truly feels alive. This results in a spiraling high when in the midst of combat. She runs head first into any encounter, laughing and smiling—not without a tinge of cruelty. There is a reckless abandon to her style. She doesn't spare much thought towards protecting herself, enjoying the pain and using it to contribute towards inflicting it on her opponents.

It is hardly a healthy mindset. While it makes her a wild force that is difficult to contain, it comes at great cost to her body and mind. She can easily get lost in the high and do near irreparable damage to either herself or her target. The definition of a double-edged sword.
