There is scarcely a planet in the galaxy where he can't manage to find a way to fit in, be it throwing together a convincing imitation of local guard or pretending to be a regular local. John "Dragoon" Witwalker is so good at such that he may have seemingly lost all sense of personal style and flair, leaving him as always simply the imitator.

John "Dragoon" Witwalker has a military background, and draws upon his experience to tackle the obstacles in his life. This makes him decisive, efficient, and fearless; provides him with a strong sense of duty and strength; which tends to influence his ability to fight and lead. However, a rigid mind is less compassionate towards individuals and less imaginative, and John "Dragoon" Witwalker sometimes risks appearing callous, relatable, or incapable of compromising.

Without the gift of the Force, John "Dragoon" Witwalker has trained rigorously with a wide range of melee weaponry and technology to better handle opponents that are able to harness the mythical power. John "Dragoon" Witwalker has been conditioned to fight against foes that are Force-sensitive and are able to compensate against fighting an adversary wielding something as deadly as a lightsaber. While this adaptive combat training makes him lethal in close quarters combat against any kind of threat, they are still at the mercy of a long ranged fighter, assailant or Force user that prefers to attack the mind instead of the body.

Even the most gifted of weapon masters understands the importance of physical fitness and disciplining the body with through martial arts training. John "Dragoon" Witwalker has trained vigorously in unarmed combat by fusing Teräs Käsi and Echani with other unconventional forms. While this martial focus helps bolster his prowess in close-quarters combat, John "Dragoon" Witwalker is still limited in scope when facing down a less direct or ranged threat.
