Nevan Taelyan is a devoted follower in the ways of the Jedi Order, aspiring to follow his own evolved version of the Jedi Code as best he knows how as a self-taught adherent. This guides his personal relationships and makes him incredibly mindful of his emotions, but can also stand in the way of certain relationships or decisions when they would require him to violate the code.

Nevan love animals, enjoys being around them and his empathy towards them leads him to feel compelled to help them whenever possible. This guides who he is and the decisions he makes on a daily basis as someone gifted in the Force who recognizes it flowing through all living things. Instantly putting him at odds with anyone who means to harm a creature with malicious or even reckless intent.

Nevan has a deep connection to the Force through training he recognizes his own place in the galaxy as insignificant at it is and has left him respectful and humbled of what that means to his existence. This humbleness comes out in his demeanor which is soft spoken and mild mannered. This can make him come off as aloof and not taken seriously as the powerful Jedi that he is as he seeks to diminish his own capabilities when acting as part of a group.

A life around creatures of all types, including those not traditionally domesticated, has left Nevan with incredible patience. He recognizes that his own feelings and mood are easily picked up on by other creatures and it has left him mindful of his own feelings leaving him rarely angry or upset. This can also leave people feeling that Nevan lacks a sense or urgency or doesn't care about stressful or high pressure situations.

The lightsaber is Nevan's first instinct in combat, taking pride in its construction and having trained with it at every possible moment. This means he will rely on the lightsaber in combat first at every opportunity, even if it isn't the best option given the situation.

Nevan has lived his entire life finding more in common with the creatures of the world than his fellow sentients, and has spent so much time training and living alongside a wide range of creatures that he has a stronger trust in them. This means he will always look to have specific tasks or objectives before him carried out by creatures before fellow sentient beings, putting him at odds especially in military settings where creatures do not have rank or fit into tactical plans.
