Dek Sabbat is average, so much so there's nothing overly memorable or noteworthy about him. He's not short, but not tall. His body is fairly average; he's not overweight, nor skinny. He has brown hair and green eyes, a kind smile that is rarely worn, and his hair is almost always cropped short; at the longest, he may wear it a few inches long.
He is relaxed in his posture. He stands straight, but not rigid. His hands are weathered from long years spent as a combat medic on patrol, and they look a bit more tan and leathery than the rest of his body.
Dek Sabbat always seems to underestimate the gravity of important situations or the difficulty of tasks by about a mile or ten.Dek Sabbat is a bit of a slacker, never really thinking things all the way through - and it usually comes back to bite him in a wildly comedic way. However, he also tends to not be deterred from things that would often scare others away.
Dek Sabbat's skills as a medic are not just limited to holo-books and lectures. He has read up and practiced a handful of experimental treatments while inventing a few home remedies of his own. This allows Dek Sabbat to work outside the box in less than ideal situations, and can lead to him solving mysteries other trained medics might struggle with. This, of course, comes with its own string of failures, as nothing is ever perfect. That, and some of the more established professionals in the field often doubt or question Dek Sabbat's alternative practices. He typically brushes them off in favor of doing everything he can to help a patient, but does quietly seek recognition for accomplishments as a healer.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Dek Sabbat's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Dek Sabbat is very cheerful and happy, and always looks on the bright side of life. When chewing on life’s gristle, he doesn't grumble, but gives a whistle. He always hopes for the best, and enjoys laughing, smiling, dancing or singing. This unending optimism often improves the morale and spirit of everyone around him, and Dek Sabbat is always quick with a smile or a joke, even when drawing his terminal breath. This same exuberance can also be tiring to more jaded curmudgeons.
Dek Sabbat vastly prefers ranged combat, taking every opportunity to use skills and Force Powers to disengage from melee and instead fight at range, so much so that he has become competent at staying out of melee in the first place.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Dek Sabbat? Dek Sabbat doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Dek Sabbat, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Dek Sabbat isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Dek Sabbat won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Dek Sabbat will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.
