People who don’t know Mirin well think of her line of work as dangerous, exploitative and selfish. And while at times they may be correct — no one can do it all for free, and sometimes things are useful or quite valuable to a collector — Mirin’s main goal, is to save artifacts and bits of history in order to preserve and study lost or dying cultures. Unfortunately, it's often in Mirin's opinion whether or not something needs to be "saved," even from its own people who don't "appreciate it correctly."

Due to her Kiffar heritage and clan markings, Mirin is easy to spot in a crowd. Due to this and her desire to stay at least somewhat anonymous, Mirin dons a set of Mandalorian armour that she…liberated, in order to hide her identity and protect herself on jobs. Unfortunately, due to her lack of Mandalorian heritage, knowledge, or practices, this is not seen favourably by some who respect the culture.

Mirin is feisty, putting on a tough attitude to try and get people to actually take her seriously. Her gruff exterior puts people off, but once you get past the aggressive personality, Mirin is a big softy on the inside that will do anything and everything for those she cares about.

Mirin has always enjoyed finding out how things work, whether its people or machines. Her day job as a mechanic sees her tearing apart speeders, swoops and ships, while her side gig has her searching for lost relics, allowing her to study long-forgotten cultures and learn how the Galaxy got where it is. Sometimes that means she understands machines — and thinks she understands ancient people — better than she understands the people around her.

Mirin Vel works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Mirin Vel has learned to not take jabs about her stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for her inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Mirin Vel's discipline of never overestimating her own abilities or those of her opponents. She has trained to fully utilize her size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. She knows exactly how to leverage her weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Mirin Vel becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.

When Mirin Vel gets in trouble, she finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that she tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for her compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made her the most popular among her peers, but hey, at least Mirin Vel isn't dead yet.
