Harald Vel is perfectly capable of fulfilling responsibilities and doing his duties. But goofing off and having fun will always have a heavy sway in his decision making. He sometimes ignores orders or finds ways to spend as much time avoiding an assignment as possible.

Harald Vel has no home planet, at least not one that he can remember. As a child, Harald Vel would spend most of his time on different starships and grew accustomed to the atmosphere and nuances of space and the various crafts that traverse it. As a result, Harald Vel feels more comfortable on a ship than on any planet.

Killing has never been a problem for Harald Vel; and he kind of enjoys it now, if he is honest. Killing's what Harald Vel does, and he likes what he does.

Harald Vel has a military background, and draws upon his experience to tackle the obstacles in his life. This makes him decisive, efficient, and fearless; provides him with a strong sense of duty and strength; which tends to influence his ability to fight and lead. However, a rigid mind is less compassionate towards individuals and less imaginative, and Harald Vel sometimes risks appearing callous, relatable, or incapable of compromising.

Harald Vel vastly prefers ranged combat, taking every opportunity to use skills and Force Powers to disengage from melee and instead fight at range, so much so that he has become competent at staying out of melee in the first place.

Without the gift of the Force, Harald Vel has trained rigorously with a wide range of melee weaponry and technology to better handle opponents that are able to harness the mythical power. Harald Vel has been conditioned to fight against foes that are Force-sensitive and are able to compensate against fighting an adversary wielding something as deadly as a lightsaber. While this adaptive combat training makes him lethal in close quarters combat against any kind of threat, they are still at the mercy of a long ranged fighter, assailant or Force user that prefers to attack the mind instead of the body.
