Having served an the elite fighter squadron of the Emperor's Hammer and the famed Tau Squadron of the Dark Brotherhood, Rax has demonstrated that he is one of the best fighter pilots within the Emperor's Hammer and Dark Brotherhood . Having served at the highest levels of the star fighter corps for long periods of time, Rax has developed into a highly skilled fighter group tactician.
As a result of spending the majority of his military career in the small confines of a fighter cockpit, Rax's force abilities have been fine tuned for space warfare. As a consequence of this and being hampered by a completely replaced left knee, an old crash landing incident, Rax's ground fighting skills are not on the same level as his fight abilities in space.
Through a combination of preparing, studying, and analyzing, Rax Von-Klug creates detailed battle plans and tries to think two steps ahead of the enemy. At times, however, this can lead to Rax Von-Klug creating complicated schemes that can baffle less intelligent subordinates.
Rax Von-Klug tells it like he sees it, when he thinks it; and he doesn't try to sugar coat what he says.
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Rax Von-Klug's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Rax Von-Klug is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He has spent his life building himself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead him to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even his superiors and subordinates.
Through careful study and dedication to isolated martial-combat, Rax Von-Klug has turned the act of dueling into an art form. A keen eye and attention to detail allows him the ability to learn their opponent's idiosyncrasies while fighting. Rax Von-Klug then uses his own skills to capitalize on the opponent's weakness. Because of this calculated approach to isolated duels, Rax Von-Klug has a harder time taking on multiple opponents at once at higher skill levels.
