Having been a medical professional for the majority of her life, when acting as a doctor having a professional manner is second nature to Sylvia Arztin. However, when not in a professional setting Sylvia is extremely shy and finds it difficult to start a conversation with those she does not know on a personal level.

Born with an innate talent for medicine Sylvia Arztin has spent her whole life working as a doctor and honing her skills. Specifically Sylvia has excelled as a surgeon and utilizes the Force to assist her during surgery. However this Savant like skill and her focus on studying and practicing medicine has left her with knowledge of little else.

A lifetime of working in a professional environment coupled with a sarcastic streak has given Sylvia Arztin the ability to make sarcastic yet still professional remarks. While she will never sass a patient she is currently treating, those not assisting her directly or under her immediate care are another story. This does tend to cause friction between Sylvia and others as it can seem as if she is looking down on them.

Having lived a life devoted to the study of medicine Sylvia Arztin has always longed and dreamed of doing other things. She longs to go on adventures, have deep and feeling relationships, and explore the galaxy. Sylvia longs to make friends, and is in fact extremely friendly at heart and longs for social interaction. However she has developed a social awkwardness and shyness which keeps her from reaching out to fulfill those dreams.

While not against fighting Sylvia Arztin, out of fear for her own safety will avoid fighting unless there is absolutely no other way. Sylvia will go to great lengths to avoid having to fight be it running, hiding, cowering in fear before an enemy, or trying to talk and reason her way out. When an ally is in serious danger Sylvia will try to assist them from afar or by other means until she is forced to fight to save them. This of course can cause confusion and conflict between Sylvia and her allies when she seemingly is refusing to help out.

As a doctor Sylvia Arztin refuses to take a life no matter the situation. When Sylvia is left with no other choice but to fight she will do everything in her power to incapacitate her enemy in a manner that will not cause permanent damage and with as little injury as possible. Typically Sylvia tries to achieve this with the use of incapacitating poison. This insistence not to kill and do a minimal damage as possible can cause Sylvia and those around her to be placed in even greater danger.
