Harry West is the hybrid result of a Human mother and a Chiss father. He greatly favors his father's side of the family with the telltale cerulean skin of the Chiss, but has a mop of messy brown hair over rounded, hearty features that most would consider handsome. Clean shaven, his pale red eyes lack the harsh crimson edge that most Chiss are known for. Harry towers over most Humans but wears his weight evenly across his figure. His muscles are lean but taut and show a conscious commitment to staying in shape.
Harry prefers to keep his attire simple: gray, loose-fitting shirts tucked into faded blue fatigues with a silver-buckled belt and comfortable ankle-high boots. He caps it off with a long black “duster-style” coat that cuts off at his ankles and billows dramatically behind him when he runs.
Harry West somehow always finds himself in tricky situations that put him in over his head. As such, Harry West always seems to be digging himself out of some kind of dilemma. While this speaks to Harry West’s ability to think outside the box to find solutions, his moral code often gets in the way of taking the easy way out.
Harry still believes in an old fashioned sense of chivalry. He is polite to a fault which gives him an endearing charm that can sometimes wander off key due to his sarcastic wit. This sense of chivalry makes Harry susceptible to going to extreme lengths if he senses that a woman is in trouble and requires his aide somehow. He will often say yes to a damsel in distress, even if he knows he is probably walking right into a trap. He has also been known to give women the benefit of the doubt, which has earned him quite a few unexpected trips to the floor.
Harry has a reputation for always doing what he feels is right in his heart. For all of his guile and talent, this defining principle sits at the core of who Harry West is. He has seen the darkness that exists in the world and the temptation it can offer a lonely orphan angry at the world and coming into his power. He was fortunate enough to find the Brotherhood, where he was shown that he was not tethered to the darkness or the light. He would forge his own path, his own way of the Force, as long as he always did what he felt was right in his heart. As a result, Harry will always put himself in harm's way if it means protecting another, almost to a fault. This makes it easy for his foes to manipulate him, but gives him an endearing resilience that has earned him more allies than enemies.
Orphaned as a child, Harry dealt with the struggle of not fitting in with his own people. The Chiss viewed him as inferior and the Humans pegged him as an outsider. Never having anyone to rely on but himself, Harry learned early on to harden his willpower and wear it like armor in order to defend himself from prejudice and oppression. This hard-knox upbringing also lead Harry to develop a dry, sarcastic wit that acts as an instinctive defense mechanism that has both won him friends and enemies. He runs the daily risk of saying the wrong thing to the wrong person, however, and it will probably be what ends up getting him killed. Unless...
Harry always knew he had a gift with the Force, but it took him time to fully come to grips with it. Treading the line between the dark side and the light as a Sorcerer, Harry knows that his powers can do just as much good as they can harm. Always conscious of this simple truth, Harry will often hold back on using his power freely and without restraint. While this often allows him to focus more on winning a fight without the Force, his reluctance to use his full power can often come back to haunt him if his best laid plans are not enough to secure success.
Harry believes firmly that any problem or obstacle can be overcome if he keeps calm and uses his head. While confident in his abilities to harness the Force, Harry will always look to outthink his opponents and leverage his surroundings to his advantage. He knows that he is often overpowered and out-skilled by more experienced Jedi and Mercenary alike, which gives him a realistic ability to never overestimate a foe. Crafty and clever, his mind is his greatest weapon, but if he is unable to figure out a solution he can lose heart and buckle under the weight of helplessness.
