Physical Description

Crandl is a tall, well built human male of middle years. His dark hair contrasts with his light skin. Even though a man possessing a large frame such as his could often be very easily seen as intimidating, he has a way of carrying himself that serves to make him seem relaxed and more casual in order to put those around him at ease. His deep, resonant voice lends an air of command to his words that provides him with ethos and credibility.

He most often can be found clad in the officer’s uniform of the Iron Legion, though he rarely wears the officer’s cap that is part of it unless required. He also carries with him his pair of blaster pistols at nearly all times in reverse holsters high on his hips. The only additional insignia aside from rank his uniform features is a black armband featuring the logo of the Inquisitorius on his left arm.

Silver Tongued Devil (General Aspect)

Crandl Lorne is not your normal military officer in that his focus on his martial skills have not come at the expense of his ability to influence people. A master manipulator, he is highly skilled at talking other sentients into actions they might not otherwise take. Able to present even the most unreasonable propositions as necessary, or even admirable, he excels in walking others through a series of incremental compromises until they are far beyond the point of no return. Given his skills with manipulation, he can often have a hard time dealing with those familiar with his reputation since they don't find him particularly trustworthy.

He Has Eyes Everywhere (General Aspect)

Owing to his position within the Inquisitorius, Crandl sits at a nexus of informants and information. He has a near eidetic memory, which allows him to call upon the vast stores of knowledge at his fingertips in everyday conversation. This gives him a unique talent when it comes to pressuring others, either through intimidation or persuasion. He does not often enter into a conversation without going over all of the possible avenues beforehand. The large amount of information he has on hand, however, does have its downsides. When explaining plans or ideas to others, he often leaves out crucial details or context and instead cuts to a conclusion that others may not fully understand.

He Even Believes The Lies (Personality Aspect)

As a man in the position of spreading the propaganda and furthering the agenda of the Inquisitorius, it always helps to be a true believer. Crandl Lorne is one of the truest, with a nearly fanatical belief in the mission of his organization. He is not a man that questions or examines the motivations behind the orders he is directed to enact, nor is he a man who parrots rhetoric in the pursuit of power. His one priority is the zealous prosecution of his assigned task. His fanatical devotion can lead to trouble, however. Not being one to examine his orders too critically, he will often follow blindly into dubious circumstances.

The Presentation And Packaging Is Everything (Personality Aspect)

Even though he never served in the Imperial Military, Crandl is very much the ideal of the Imperial Officer Corps. Etiquette and presentation are not simply words, they are major goals to strive for. As a result he maintains the formal speech patterns of the Coruscant elite even when under stress. Only on rare occasions does the harder edge of the career soldier rise to the surface. His highly proper military bearing means that many on the galaxy's fringe develop an nearly instant distaste for him.

There’s No Kill Like Overkill (Combat Aspect)

Whether in one on one brawls or larger ground unit engagements, Crandl has only one maxim: Strike quickly and with enough strength to render your enemy unable to respond. A goal that cannot be reached in every situation, it still informs his approach to combat. As a consequence he tends to favor offense over defense (and therefore is at a far greater disadvantage against even slightly superior combatants or forces), but not in an unfocused, brute force style. He still favors stealth and the exploitation of enemy weaknesses, as those tactics often allow him to achieve his goal of instant incapacitation.

Two Is Better Than One (Combat Aspect)

In personal combat Crandl favors his pair of heavy blaster pistols over a single, more powerful rifle. His feeling is that a single weapon only allows you a single point of attack, whereas two offers the ability to engage two separate targets. This philosophy has influenced his training with melee weapons and unarmed combat as well. It has even spilled over into his use of tactics in military engagements as well, leaving him far less reticent to divide his force in order to engage the enemy on more than one front. That willingness to split his forces, however, often leaves his troops facing far longer odds than they would like.
