"Ace" sports more of a lean and lanky build than a muscular one. Despite training as a Wilderness Ranger, his skin retains a pale smoothness that, when combined with his strong jawline and other attractive features, lend merit to his Hapan heritage. Dark brown eyes sit beneath a similarly colored, short-cropped Mohawk with the flanking sides kept shaved down and smooth. He has a pale brown tattoo on his cheek that straddles his right eye in a glyph-like pattern.
Ace likes to work in "blacks" and "darker blacks", which is apparent when looking at the majority of his wardrobe. Skin-tight black pants tuck into shin-high studded combat boots, and he tends to wear either a dark tanktop or shirt with some kind of ironic or trendy graphic design or logo. He does not understand everyone's fascination with "capes" and "cloaks" and will wear a leather bomber jacket with a fur lined hood if he needs to bundle up.
Ace does not do well when he is separated from connectivity to the Holonet or any of his gadgets. When forced to go on missions on remote worlds, he can easily grow distracted, distraught, and fidgety and can display symptoms similar to separation anxiety. His mood will sink, he can get irritated easily, and becomes near-unbearable unless given a task that can keep him occupied that usually involves playing off-line games on his Datapad.
Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran looks at any problem he comes across and instead of immediately complaining about it sets out to figuring out a solution. He will work tirelessly to find workarounds or a solution, but can often overthink the resolution and come up with a "fix" that is actually more complex than needed. This driven approach to fixing problems can be helpful at times but grating at others when a simple "restart" would have accomplished the task quicker than re-programming the entire device.
Selected out of the Arcona Armed Forces Wilderness Rangers for the Fade Initiative, Acaelus was hand chosen by Marick Arconae to serve as one of his personal aides. Sharing a mutual history of growing up in the distant Hapes cluster, Ace has always looked up to the former Shadow Lord as a symbol of strength and power. Marick gave Ace a purpose in life, so his loyalty extends beyond any ties he has to Clan Arcona. In short, Ace would fly to the edge of the Galaxy if Marick asked him to, and never question why.
Having grown up in a matriarchal society that had a habit of oppressing male children, Ace has a not-so-subtle disdain for women in power or authority roles, and women in general. Beyond this, he tends to carry a chip on his shoulder and maintains some archaic ideas of gender-roles in the Galaxy. While he keeps this mostly to himself, he has a tendency to let slip his thoughts on such matters, which usually ends with him getting slapped, kneed, or scowled at. The few women that have earned his trust, like K'tana and Atyiru, tend to get a pass, but he still always finds a way to say something offensive and is rarely apologetic even if he says "sorry". His quick wit doesn't make things any easier.
Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran's passion for technology extends beyond his talent with Slicing. He truly believes that wars can be won with technology, not soldiers, and will always try to avoid direct combat if he can afford it. Instead, he prefers to deploy clever traps with Explosives, or turn technology against others as a weapon. Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran would rather overload a circuit breaker to shock a guard into submission than to test his luck with his hands or a blaster. If removed from technology or his gadgets, however, Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran can easily be overwhelmed. Fortunately, he has no qualms with throwing a smoke grenade down and running for dear life.
While Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran avoids combat whenever possible, he has no qualms working with technology under the stress and pressure of combat. Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran has trained himself to keep calm and focus intently on Slicing even while taking blaster fire from cover or when placed under time constraints. In truth, Acaelus "Ace" Del'aran almost works better when under duress, and actually needs motivation, typically, when Slicing.
