Talos Val can be very protective, and when any of his friends are being bullied or threatened, he will step in to defend them. This can gets Talos Val in trouble when he refuses to back down during these exchanges, and sometimes has trouble discerning between friendly teasing and intentional insults. However, because of this fierce loyalty, his friends know that no matter what, Talos Val will be there for them.

Be it during a fight or life in general, moral compass means little to Talos Val. If you don’t want a person harmed, you had better specify. General terms mean nothing to him as Talos Val only deals in specifics. If the rules of a duel say you can’t shoot before the count of three? A grenade over the shoulder is fair game, then. Tell Talos Val to stop someone at all costs, well, you better not be concerned if they’re brought back dead or alive.

While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Talos Val's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. He becomes focused and quiet, with his smile replaced with a look of grim determination.

Talos Val is a lateral thinker, and when he encounters problems or dilemmas, he is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Talos Val to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Talos Val can typically explain and lead others through his plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust him outside thinking.

When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Talos Val? Talos Val doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Talos Val, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Talos Val isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Talos Val won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Talos Val will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.

Fond of staying alive and prepared, Talos Val keeps several bladed weapons hidden on his person at all times and in all different locations. Talos Val switches these locations periodically in order to maintain an element of surprise even among his allies who know him. Unfortunately, this sometimes means that he is slower to draw one of these weapons if he forgets where he stashed them.
