Kal Vorrac is a stern-faced, tall human male with black hair, lines of gray shot through it with wings of gray at the temples. His skin is quite pale, regardless of exposure to the sun. His emerald-colored eyes peer out from a sharp-featured, handsome face that proudly bears the lines of age and the scars of a lifetime spent as a member of the Sith. His tall frame is muscular, if a bit wiry with age, and bears marks and scars from various altercations throughout his life; his entire left arm from six inches below the shoulder is cybernetic, as are both of his legs from four inches above the knee. Vorrac typically wears black gloves over both of his hands, as well as black robes of respectable cut and fabric, though he will alter this attire and any aspect of his appearance to suit his goals.
Kal's most apparent identifying marks are a half-inch-thick, horizontal scar that starts at the outer corner of his left eye and runs about halfway to his ear. His right ear has a tiny nick in it as well, while long, slightly puckered scars on his abdomen rest overtop a cybernetic spleen and liver. Finally, he has a distinctive brand on his right hand in the shape of an hourglass.
Kal Vorrac is sly, cautious, and often quite cordial with anyone he can associate with. He will work with those he can use, casting them down when they are weak in just such a way as to make them think that someone else is responsible and building them up when they need someone the most. He worms his way into the trust of those around him, makes himself indispensable, and seeks the success and triumphs of all those who he kneels to and calls Master. Little do they know the deeper, darker truth; they have made a Faustian bargain, and one day, the hounds will come calling for them as well. When they discover this, though, he is sure to make an enemy or lose an influential connection, and it is in this moment that he must work to have another resource to draw upon - or strike first, and decisively.
Kal Vorrac is less of a chessmaster, and more of a web-weaver. He does not plot and scheme, so much as he manipulates dozens of other plotters and schemers from afar, running the long game and pursuing gains in a dozen areas both tiny and huge. He will aid enemies, sabotage allies, and go against his own short-term goals at times if it furthers his goals. Only one thing is for certain when Kal Vorrac is on your side - you are not in control. The downside to this is that, in a world of pawns, knights, and rooks, one never has time for close confidants; Vorrac can never know friends, or trust an ally. He can never know a moment's peace.
Kal Vorrac doesn't believe in becoming personally attached to people or things, not for the reasons a Jedi would shun them, but because of the weakness implied therein. He believes that every string that connects him to the world beyond him is a potential chain, a noose someone may slip around his neck, for that is how he himself acts when he finds such connections in others. He does everything according to a very specific set of strictures and codes, and even when he betrays someone, he does it with an almost reptilian coldness. Yet behind those cold eyes, if one were to peer into his mind, lurks the dying ember of a deep wound... perhaps the one that made him the way he is today, long ago.
Kal Vorrac believes very strongly that it is his duty as a Sith to strive for power in all things, to grow in strength, ability, and influence, and to pass on all that he knows at all times to anyone capable of learning - and one day, of surpassing him. His penultimate goal is to come as close to being the Dark Lord of the Sith, or some fabled powerhouse beyond that, as he can, and then to be leaped over at the height of his skill by a student who has grown beyond what even he can muster. In so doing, the power of the true Sith - of the only Sith that, to Vorrac, matter at all - is ensured, while the rest of the rabble are fodder for their power.
In a fight, Kal goes for the most effective, and typically the most lethal, blow as soon as it presents itself. He does not bother with repartee and niceties unless he must to put an opponent off-balance, and even in those rare instances he will lunge as soon as the foe shows weakness. He will maim, cripple, and kill with hardly a thought; he will use underhanded tactics, exploit advantages, double-tap downed opponents, and flee lost situations at a moment's notice. To him, honor, glory, and a moral code are hindrances to be discarded and forgotten - and history is written by the victors. However, quid pro quo is often in full effect; an enemy once fooled will not soon forget it, and acting in such a vicious manner often invites even worse treatment back onto Kal himself.
Kal is many things when it comes to combat - picky is not one of them. While he tries to avoid direct confrontation and will use the Force if he can to turn the tide, Vorrac is always quick to use the first method he can to defeat a foe when he has no choice. He is well-trained with the lightsaber, but also employs blasters, blades, explosives, and even improvised weaponry against his opponents in combat. Whatever gets the job done - dead is dead, and the details aren't worth the time wasted to think about them. That said, when all you have is a hammer, all the world's a nail, and Kal has been known to consider someone an enemy when they could have been a friend, losing out on potential aid. In his paranoid mind, it's better to miss a helping hand than to risk being stabbed in the back.
