Jannala Umbra was sold by her father to a wealthy, despicable old man when she was just 15 years old. As if the forced marriage with him wasn't enough, the man also did with her as he pleased. Whenever possible, she would help free and heal the other female slaves he often bought. As a result, Jannala easily trusts females, but deeply despises and doesn't trust men, especially those in ranks above her.

Someone in Jannala Umbra’s past was killed and she has vowed to avenge their death. Should the object of her vengeance be discovered, she is likely to to do whatever she can to exact revenge, no matter the cost.

Jannala Umbra has a tendency to be secretive and keeps to herself, relying on deception to conceal her motives and intentions. She is a schemer, and plots and plans against others carefully. When dealing with a confrontation, she will try and bluff her way out of trouble, or overcome obstacles with deliberate, covert actions.

The Sith rely on their passions to give them strength. Jannala Umbra thinks inwards, only of things that matter to her, and always does what is in her best interests. She feels nothing about hurting others, or exploiting opportunities, and believes herself to be special, and above all others.

Jannala Umbra works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Jannala Umbra has learned to not take jabs about her stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for her inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Jannala Umbra's discipline of never overestimating her own abilities or those of her opponents. She has trained to fully utilize her size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. She knows exactly how to leverage her weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Jannala Umbra becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.

Where most err on the side of caution in a confrontation, Jannala Umbra prefers to charge in head-first. While others may skirt a battlefield or keep their careful distance, Jannala Umbra rushes in with devastating attacks with seemingly no regard for safety, relying upon instinct and possibly armor to protect her from dismemberment and death during her all-out attacks. Jannala Umbra is a force to be feared on the battlefield, leaving a trail of death and destruction. However, Jannala Umbra's blood-hungry ways put her in far more danger than the normal combatant, often resulting in needless injury and suffering, trading safety for pure offensive ability.
