Competition: Dathomir ACC Event

Finished
Dathomir ACC Event

ACC Event to be run for the duration of our "March To Dathomir" event.

Rules

  • 2/2 Alternative Ending Matches.
  • 72 Hour (3 Days) per post, no extensions.
  • Bracket style, single elimination tournament.
  • The Semi Finals and Finals will be 2/2 Singular Ending matches

Matches will take place in the March to Dathomir Hall where you can follow the matches and bracket advancement.

  • Each Round will feature a prompt/objective for members to complete.

Details

The intent is not to kill or defeat. The winner selected by the ACC judges will be the one who fictionally survives the fight with less taxation or injuries, and is able to move along the correct route deeper into the swamps, towards the home of a Nightsister coven.

Members will be restricted to the common weapons load listed on their character sheet, to encourage greater use of and familiarity with sheets.

Minimum word count of 500 words per post, with a soft cap of 1,500 words per post -- don't go over unless it's motivating the story in some way. Give detail, but be succinct. ACC judges may or may not punish for excessive word count at their discretion.

Objective

The Orb of Daka is an emerald-colored orb resting on a stand of various bones. It is isolated in the chamber of the final match, but MAY come into play in the final match, likely by the ghost of the Nightsister awaiting. Is it Daka herself? Mother Talzin? Or another witch simply returning because of Tarentum's presence, meddling into the home of her lost coven?

Round One

(8 members, four 2/2 singular ending matches; 72-hour post limit with no extensions.)

Members paired will enter the swamps and be met by guardian beasts, twisted versions of the natural denizens of Dathomir. These nightmarish beasts were warped by the power of the Nightsisters to guard their matriarchy. The beasts will stop at nothing to block your path and rend limbs from bodies in order to protect the secret tombs of the witches. You must succeed at all costs.

Round Two

(4 members, two 2/2 singular ending matches; 72-hour post limit with no extensions.)

Green mists fill the air as you tread deeper into the nightmarish swamps of Dathomir. The beasts have fallen back to lick their wounds, repulsed by your powers. Perhaps your former companion has fallen, or simply retreated to treat their own injuries from combat. A new companion arrives as the green mists sink lower to the ground, and the dead begin to rise. The fallen corpses of Nightsister and Nightbrother warriors have now risen to stop you. Press on and cull these forgotten fighters. Don't be held back from your ultimate goal of a Nightsister fortress!

Round Three

(2 members, one 2/2 singular ending match; 72-hour post limit with no extensions.)

At last! A cave awaits. As you stalk deeper, purplish flames erupt from ancient sconces. The realm of a Nightsister coven opens before you, leading to a great chamber. Purple flames spout from all around the exterior, revealing a wispy figure -- a witch! The ghost is attended by a great rancor, twisted according to the demonic desires of the ancient witch. The beast has horns, claws and tusks like no other creature you've laid eyes on. Her mocking laughter erupts and fills the cavern as she commands her beast to attack. Defend yourselves! Stop this witch and find the Orb of Daka!
