As Grand Master Darth Pravus continues to tighten his grip on the Dark Jedi Brotherhood to crush the Jedi, members of the Clan are forced to take up arms for one side or another, making decisions that define who they are as they are called on to act on behalf of the Brotherhood, their Clan, their friends, and their own hearts and minds.
Members of both the Inquisitorius and the Resistance continue to bounce back and forth between success and failure. The Brotherhood continues on its path to crush the relocated Clan of Odan'Urr and their allies. Information has become as valuable a commodity as credits themselves, and the right knowledge could sway the conflict in one side's favor.
Prompt: Awaking with no memories of the past 24 hours, you find yourself in an unfamiliar locale. Sitting in what appears to be a cell, your eyes fall upon a large viewport on the opposite side of the room only to see the endless expanse of space. The next thing you notice is an unexpected weight pulling at your wrist. You find yourself attached by shackles and a chain to a dormant form nearby. You recognize them as an enemy almost instantly. On top of that, your weapons are gone and you find yourself unable to exert your will, through your skills or otherwise, upon the mechanism clasped to your wrist. It has become clear you're going to have to work together in order to escape the prison ship... or neither of you will be making it out.
Inquisitorius Objective: You have been placed in containment with a recently captured member of the Resistance. Traditional methods of interrogation have proven unreliable and the powers at be have taken to an unorthodox approach. It is your task to work with your enemy, earn their trust, and in the process... learn their secrets.
Resistance Objective: You find yourself trapped in containment with a member of the Inquisitorius or one of their mercenaries. You vaguely recall a recent conflict but the details are fuzzy at best. You will need to work with your enemy in order to regain your freedom, and perhaps in the process you may be able to learn something of benefit to your cause.
Special Notes: If you wish to involve another member's character as your counterpart, you must acquire their permission.
How to submit: Write a fiction at least 500 words in length. No maximum. That takes on one of the two objectives above (Inquisitorius or Resistance) from your character's point of view, in whatever manner you choose given those details. Preferred submission format is pdf. Anything in a GoogleDoc must be exported as a pdf for submission.
Bonus: Up to four (4) bonus Clusters of Ice can be earned for valid entries to this competition. One (1) bonus Cluster of Ice will be awarded per 500 words of fiction written, up to 2000 words when the fourth is earned. No more than four (4) bonus Clusters of Ice will be awarded to any member regardless of the length of their entry. These will be manually awarded following the closure of this competition.
How it will be graded: Grading will be based on the Fiction Rubric.
