The "Paladin Massacre" - the slaughter of Undesirable students of the Shadow Academy aboard the VSDII Paladin at the hands of former Headmaster Dacien Victae di Plagia - is not exactly uncommon knowledge among the remaining students. The elevation of Dacien's protege, Farrin Xies, to replace him as Headmaster has done little to quell any remaining fears; though he was not present, there is little question as to his support for the Dark Council's actions.

Where were you when the slaughter happened? What was your reaction? If you're an Undesirable yourself that somehow escaped the purge, how were you successful when so many of your peers weren't?

This competition is designed for Journeymen only. All entrants must be JM4 (Knight, etc.) or below at the time that they submitted their entry. All other entries will be disqualified and will not receive credit for the competition.

This competition will be judged using the standard Voice fiction rubric. All entries must be in text form uploaded to the competition (Word document, PDF, etc.); links to GoogleDocs will not be accepted. Minimum word count for this competition is 500 words, with a maximum of 2000.
