Rejuvenation

The story of Tarentum continues. This next year, we will progress the storyline of the Clan, of the individual Houses, as well as have some fun with different flash games and more. The chapters will consist of ten week event terms, followed by two weeks of down time between each subsequent chapter release. In the 2017-18 Rejuvenation storyline will be four chapters, each chapter focusing on a broad aspect of the Clan and its individual Houses. This will be done to retcon some history, update other parts, and move the Clan story and activities forward.

Each event term of ten weeks will consist of multiple events that are meant to be membership-driven. Meaning, that while there are broad goals for the story and the progression of it, the story itself will actually be determined by the writing of the membership. This will give a lot of the creativity of our membership the proverbial keys to the Clan. Their stories will dictate our future. Additionally, rewards will be given with the future of the Clan in mind. Meaning, while members will be able to acquire the traditional medals and competition rewards of credits, they will also be able to acquire positions in the fictional hierarchy of the Clan. This will not only be for our members who engage in writing, but also those who game, as well. They are truly our future, and that will be recognized in all that we do.

Events will center around poetry and prose, as well as flash gaming and other events that are meant to spur activity, as well as bragging rights. Winning each event type within the various chapters will earn five (5) points for First Place, three (3) points for Second Place, two (2) points for Third Place, and one (1) point for participation. Each event will be worthy of Third-level Crescents, with the overall chapter winners gaining Clan-specific fictional rewards. The overall event winners for Rejuvenation will gain Second-level Crescents and additional Clan-specific fictional rewards.

Grading will be done by the Clan Summit. All grading will be based on originality and abiding by the rules of the individual events for the written events, and for score-based gaming or other rules for those specific events. All individual events will have rules placed on their individual event listings. Rules for potential ties will be dealt with in the competition listings. For the overall rewards, any ties will be broken based on number of highest placements giving advantage in such situations (i.e. persons tied for First Place overall will be decided based on who has the highest number of total placements for the competition as a whole).

These events are open to the entirety of the membership of Tarentum, though at times, the chapters or fiction revolving in the events may focus on specific persons or unit. The story as a whole, and thus the competition, is focused on Tarentum. All members are encouraged to compete within as many events as they feel so inclined.
