Have you ever played Magic: The Gathering? Have you ever wondered what some of our beloved characters, settings or items would look like in other gaming universes? Here is a competition for you!
Submit a custom made Magic card with any Brotherhood character, location, event or item as the card's subject. The card itself may be any color or type within the game system (creature, land, planewalker, instant, etc). Game balance factors such as mana cost will only be considered as it relates to
There are several websites available to assist in generating cards. MTGCardsmith is just one example. Here is an album containing several examples of DB cards.
Entries must be in a standard image format (.png, .jpg, etc.)
Entries must at a minimum provide the DB subject in the submission text box (what character, event, or item is referenced on the card). Participants can add further explanation of any inside jokes or references which may not be immediately apparent from materials on the DB site.
Entries must be an image of a custom made Magic: The Gathering card of any type (color, land, artifact, creature, etc) that relates to a character, location, event or item in the Dark Brotherhood. Entries will be judged on adherence to the subject (character CS, possessions item, event wiki, etc) i.e. how you use the card mechanics (color, type, abilities, flavor text) to capture the chosen subject. Judgment factors include, adherence to DB subject matter, creativity/cleverness, and a small tilt for overall appearance. Entries can use comedy (which will go to the creativity/cleverness criteria) but the focus of this comp is translating the DB subject matter into a card.
Ask permission before using another person's character or character art
Use of stock images is allowed for the card art portion of the entry.
Cluster of Graphite will not be awarded for this competition.
You must create a new card specifically for this competition. Submitting entries from prior competitions (even your own entries) or the work of others will result in disqualification and referral to the Chamber of Justice
