In 3 ABY, Luke Skywalker turned from his training after a vision warns him of the suffering of Han and Leia. Fearing the worst, he departed to Cloud City, where he engaged in a lightsaber battle with Darth Vader in he carbon freezing chamber. After Luke is thrown out onto an emergency, the pair continue their fight over a large shaft. Luke's hand was cut off and standing atop the platform the young Skywalker hung from, Vader revealed the truth of his parentage.
Rather than being corrupted by the Dark Side, Luke chose to throw himself into the chasm below. And the rest, as many fans know, is history.
What if Luke had decided to take Vader up on the offer to help him strike down the Emperor, take over the galaxy, and rule together as father and son, as master and apprentice? How much would the galaxy have changed? Could any of the events which followed have continued without the direct intervention of the eventually-would-be Jedi Master? Could Leia and the Rebellion have recovered without the man who lobbed a proton torpedo down the first Death Star's exhaust port? Would the Brotherhood exist in such a galaxy, and if so how might it impact your character's life? Did it have a grand impact on the larger path of the War?
Write a fiction depicting a tale which reflects a galaxy in which Luke Skywalker turned to the Dark Side in that pivotal moment of his life.
