Objective

The following competition follows the events of [Brotherhood Rising] Prelude update found here.

Write a story utilizing one of the three objectives listed below that revolves around your Main or Alternative character.

Prompt

Your entry must use one of the following three objectives to fulfill the prompt requirement:

Objective 1 — [INQ] - Investigation

“The Collective has been quiet. Too quiet. Upon studying reports, Marick Tyris and Evant Taelyn have discovered a potential lead on a Collective officer meeting with an unknown third party. The Voice has issued an open call to all Inquisitorius agents to investigate this lead. Stealth and subterfuge should be exhibited at all costs—under no circumstance should the Collective know we are tracking their business meetings. — Director Ness’arin Ohanak

Write a story about your character investigating the Kessel sector, using Meridian Space station as a starting point. Follow the trail of Captain Crimson of the Liberation Front, and search for details on any other potential activity the Collective might be involved in.

Alternatively, you may pursue other anomalies or leads in the Kessel Sector relating back to the Brotherhood and Clan presence established thanks to taking control of Meridian Station.

Objective 2 — [SAS] - Relic Hunter

“The Shadow Academy Society has a “bounty” out on valuable artifacts, relics, or material scattered throughout the outer rim territories and unknown space. Our scholars have spent years studying these mysteries, and your efforts will be rewarded.“ — Madame Curator

Write a story about going out into the Outer Rim territories and Unknown space to find an artifact or relic of power. Examples include, but are not limited to: holocrons possessing ancient knowledge, long forgotten journals of legendary scientist, valuable crafting material, or relics of mysterious power to be studied by the scholars and historians at the Shadow Academy.

Objective 3 — [ACE] - Escort

“While the Collective have been in retreat, there is still work to be found in helping run escort for Arx Capital Exchange. Supplies are regularly brought back and forth between Mattock Station and Meridian. Whether through spacecraft or boots on the ground, security for these missions are critical to ACE’s operational efficiency.” — Regent Evant Taelyan

Write a story about your character running an escort mission for an ACE supply run. This could be anything from space station plating material to foodstuffs or VIP personnel. This can be achieved either through a personal starfighter (Piloting) or onboard another member or a Brotherhood assigned vessel.

While the Collective may be in recess, the galaxy is still filled with pirates, mercenaries, and rival industialist that would not hesitate to try and hijack a freighter toting reinforced ship plating.

Rules

• Entries must be a minimum of 500 words. Any entries that are under 500 words will be marked as Disqualified.
• There is no maximum word cap.
• Your story should be centered on your Main or Alternative character. Slotted NPCs, Wikipedia NPCs, or other characters that you create or invent to tell your story are allowed and encouraged. However, your narrative should focus around either your Main or Alternative character.
• A snapshot of your Main or Alternative character loadout must be attached and submitted with your entry.
• Members are free to pursue or combine multiple objectives at once if they so choose.

Grading

Grading will be done utilizing the Fiction Rubric.

All entries will be eligible for grading feedback unless explicitly instructed otherwise.
