Darth Vader held a deep hatred for his home-world of Tatooine, and legend has it that he hated one creature in particular more than any other; Banthas. It is said that once when an ambassador was visiting Mustafar he brought a Bantha with him, Vader was so furious that he threw both the Ambassador and the Bantha into a lake of lava to be burnt alive. As the Bantha made its way down the lake, local Mustafarians fished its charred body from the lake and prepared it for a meal. The charred outer layer was tough to chew but beyond that was a juicy meat that was protected by the flash frying in the lava.
After his death many of his opposers would travel to his castle on Mustafar with a Bantha in tow to taunt the spirit of Lord Vader. As the Bantha population began to run rampant the locals began using them as a meat supply, putting their own twist on the new Mustafarian Delicacy—**Flash Fried Bantha Skewers**
Flash Fried Bantha Skewers are a relatively simple dish to prepare. To start gather your ingredients and utensils, you will need:
- Bantha meat (choose your favourite portion of the Bantha for this, I find that thighs work best but whatever you choose it will not change the recipe).
- Your favourite spices. This dish is traditionally made with a heavy reliance of Xi'llian (an extremely potent spice found only on Mustafar that has been known cause the unaware to pass out from the heat) though any spices will work.
- A metal spike with an insulated grip. This one is very important because you want make sure that you aren't going to burn your hand from the heat.
- Proximity to lava.
1. Choose which portion of the Bantha you will be using. Once you have done this you will cut the meat into medium sized cubes (roughly 5 cm per side), set the rest of the Bantha aside for later use.
2. Mix all of your spices together with a bit of oil.
3. Lather the Bantha cubes liberally with your spice mixture and let marinate overnight.
4. Pierce the Bantha cubes with your metal spike, put as many cubes onto a single spike as you can fit while making sure that there is a gap between your handle and the meat.
5. Fully submerge the Bantha meat in lava while making sure that you keep your hand clear of it, REMEMBER safety comes first. You want to make sure that all of the meat is completely covered or it will not cook properly. Keep your Bantha skewers submerged for no longer than thirty seconds or the meat will overcook. Repeat this step until you are satisfied with the amount of meat you have cooked.
6. Set aside and let cool for five minutes before serving.
7. ENJOY!
