Life is a sequence of moments affecting us in ways we don't even expect. Our characters are built around these moments. In every character's life, there was a moment or many moments that defined who they would become in the future. But What If...those moments never happened, or happened quite differently. How would that change the character we have grown to love/hate?

For this competition, write a 500-word minimum story about how your character is different because of a specific moment in their lives. Did they never join the brotherhood? Are they a hermit living in total seclusion on an ancient island? Let your creativity run wild.

Grading:

Grading will be done based on the Voice Approved Fiction Rubric, with more weight given to creativity and less weight given for realism(Character Sheets won't be substantial here because your character likely will be quite different).

Submission Requirements:

• 500 word count minimum.

• Submissions should be made in a doc, or pdf format. Links to a gdoc, or submission via text box, will not be accepted.

• The Fiction must be titled: [What If...(insert character question).] As an example: What If Rhylance had been loved by his parents?

• Grading for this competition will be blind.

Awards:

2nd tier crescents for the top 3 placements and Clusters of Ice as per fiction comp rules.
