Competition: [XOU] What's in a Logo?

Finished
[XOU] What's in a Logo?

For this competition you will be redesigning the Odan-Urr logo, found here. "Redesigning" could mean anything from the addition of color or texture to the current logo to the from-scratch design of a new logo for the unit.

You are free to use any media you choose so long as the final submission is in an image format such as .png, .jpg, or .gif. In addition to you image, you must submit a brief explanation in the text box of the significance of your design. Do the color choices reflect Odanite values? Does the shape evoke a lightsaber? Tell us.

Entries will be judged according to the Herald rubric with one caveat: points for "adherence to theme" will be based on your text description as well as the image itself.

Using familiar elements from the original logo, and expanding on others, this revised logo for Odan-Urr symbolizes a rebirth of the Old Jedi order under the auspices of the Clan. With the Clan Icon at the center of a stylized dawn, the wings and saber of the old Jedi order have come out of the background and emerge more fully in this version, with slight changes to fit more into the curves of the Clan symbol to evoke an almost floral support design.
The Logo remains one color in order to facilitate easier use on clan assets and stencils for ships, allowing for high contrast use, and use in any color that is required.

A symbol of unity, as the Force surrounds us, binds us, and unifies all life. A symbol of direction, as the path of Odan-Urr grants that direction to its members. The inner ring is the self, the outer is space, all part of the Force within us all.

The redesign was a combination of graphic design effects applied with digital illustration techniques, primarily through the use of custom brushes for the texture and lighting. The aim was to create an impression of standing to the test of time.

The Design is to use colors to show our various members and their differences all coming together. The white dot shows the oneness. The green is for Jedi. The dark blue is for loyalists. the yellow is for NFUs. The light blue is for for Grey Jedi.

I used some symbolism from the original logo, but harkened to a warriors helmet for the top - symbolizing the urge to defend and protect, The guiding light beam shooting upwards represents the importance of the Force.
