The Shadow Academy Research Lab: ACC (SARLACC) is hosting a cooperative ACC event that will take place over two rounds. Each round will take place in its own sub-competition with a dedicated timeline, venue and fictional scenario. Members will earn points for their individual ACC wins, losses and participation across both rounds as described below.
All matches will be conducted according to the rules of the Antei Combat Center (ACC), as described in the ACC Guide.
Any member who has qualified for the ACC is eligible to participate in one or both rounds of the competition. Participation in any round qualifies for participation in the parent, but placement will be determined by members’ cumulative points across both rounds.
A member may participate in up to three battles per round, including battles which close due to timeout. If a member is found to have more than three battles in a round, the most recently-opened battles will be closed, with no score awarded to either participant.
All matches will be set up as 4 post-count (2/2) Singular Ending matches in the SARLACC 2021 competition hall using the hall’s venue for that round, with standard Force and weapon settings.
Matches will be set up with a 3-day (72-hour) post requirement. Match extensions will be allowed as normal, but all posts must be made before the competition deadline. Any battle not completed by the close of the round will be closed, with each combatant who made at least one post earning points for their participation, as described below.
Competitors are responsible for issuing their own challenges. Challenges may be issued to any member of the Brotherhood (teammates are allowed to be from different Clans) at any time during each round of the competition, but will be subject to the same time limits regardless of when the challenge was issued or accepted (i.e. battles that started late will not be extended past the end of the round).
The minimum word count per post is the ACC standard of 250 words. There is no word cap.
Members may use their Primary or Alternative Character.
Each match will be graded using the ACC Grading Rubric. Since this competition consists of co-operative battles, members should keep in mind that how well and creatively the team approaches their objective will be factored into the Story portion of the Rubric.
Points will be allocated per match to participants as described below:
At the conclusion of the event’s two rounds, the top three placements will be awarded to the members with the highest cumulative points. Ties will be broken by members’ average battle score (i.e. the average of the scores they receive across each battle) throughout the event.
Members of the ACC Staff will be free to participate in one match per round, but will not be eligible for placement awards. The ACC Staff will aim to have all SARLACC battles judged within five days of the close of each round (not each battle), as the volume of entries allows.
