Galeres has entered into a complex environment: a game of nations, old grudges, and conflicting faiths. Compared to the Keadeans, the Sardinians have managed to hold on phenomenally well, geographically isolated and taking on similar policies that have kept them physically and socially separate not only from their terrestrial neighbors, but also from the remainder of Dajorra. It falls to Galeres to address the multitude of issues that have arisen from both this isolation, as well as the residual damages still present on the Keadean homeland.
Using your character, Alt, and/or NPC(s), write a fiction using one or more of the prompts below. Use of other characters is permitted, but the story must focus on your character(s). Writing more than one prompt will not offer any extra credit, and will be graded as if it were all one story.
The Eldar Wiki and the House fiction update in the parent competition provide some good resources for some ideas as to what you’re up against.
Prompt 1 - Hearts & Minds
The Sardinians are strangers to most of the Galerians, few if any of whom have been around since prior to Arcona’s abandonment of Eldar. It is on us to be the new faces of familiarity and protection. As such, this task requires us to aid them in any way we can without overtly devoting our resources to them. Render aid, assist with projects, and build diplomatic ties with the local city-state leaders or religious officials. Bear in mind though that, while they may be outwardly friendly, there is no telling what this theocratic society does below the surface. What you do though, and how you go about it, is up to you.
Prompt 2 - Insurgency
Notable for its recent quasi-genocidal raids along the Keadean coast, the as-yet unnamed Sardinian underground movement is beginning to cause a stir for more than just Galeres. The Keadeans see it as an act of war, and at a time where they can ill afford any sort of major conflict. The Sardinians and their Kasha are, on the surface, opposed to the violence, but they have yet to definitively address the issue. Both parties, though, have at least tentatively approved of Galeres and its military forces rooting out these violent cells. The Kasha prefers them captured for questioning and repentance; the Keadeans prefer their destruction.
Prompt 3 - Reconstruction
Tairiku and the Keadeans are still not fully on their feet. While they have convened something akin to their legacy Council of Elders from the numerous remaining nobles, they are still quietly vying for greater power. Meanwhile, the greater portion of Tairiku’s population still lacks long-range transit, power, or running water that isn’t from a stream or long outdated aqueduct. And while some towns would appreciate aid in rebuilding this infrastructure, some villages might be just as well served by a visit from the people that kept them out of the hands of pirates and slavers.
