As part of our military revamp, there is talk about building a military base on Daemunn, the moon of Zsoldos, with construction to begin next month.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to do a quick scout of the moon for a good staging area to start sending resources and personnel before construction begins.

What kind of terrain is there? What kind of environment does this moon have? What threats are lurking there, waiting to eat our construction peons in between bouts of clicking until they say, "stop poking me"?

The good news is, create what you like! We'll make it canon later.

The bad news is, this is a flash fiction challenge: you only have 1000 words to scout a small part of the moon.

Rules

• Feel free to make use of any of our Clan Assets in your story. Remember, an expendable random soldier is a hungry alien monster's best friend!

• Note: Entries must be a minimum of 500 words, with a maximum of 1000 words.

• Grading will be judged using the standard Voice Fiction Rubric.

• Any entries containing adult content above a "PG-13" level should not publish their entries (uncheck "publish entry" in the submission page). The inclusion of such content will not be penalized.
