You dream of another person. Perhaps not the most intimate of dreams — or nightmares, depending on your perspective — but they are close. Too close. Almost like they are momentarily a part of you before drifting off in the direction you came from, and you toward their origin.

Eventually you awaken and there’s a moment of relief as you escape the oddity of the dream, only to realize that something is… off.

The room isn’t right. Your limbs feel different; look different. At first look in a mirror, you realize that -le gasp!- you’re no longer in your own body!

In this cooperative fiction, you and one other member will tell the story of your particular and peculiar body-swap experience. How it came to pass and how you get out of the predicament, if at all, is open and up to you to lay out for your reader. Lament or enjoy being in this other person’s shoes; right wrongs or ruin reputations. There’s plenty that can be done when it’s not you doing it, right?

Rules and Grading

• 500 words minimum per participant is required for valid entries, with no maximum word count limit.
• Please include the members’ names, dossier numbers, and a Loadout snapshot link at the top of the document for participation credit and reference. Likewise, ensure that each participant’s contributions are easily discernible from the other’s (ex. color coding).
• Accepted submission formats are PDF file. Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files, Google Doc links, and text box submissions will NOT be accepted.
• Grading will be done in accordance with the Fiction Grading Rubric, averaging the scores between the individual participants for the total submission grade.
• Use of other people’s characters (outside your coop partner) is permitted, but make sure you have their permission to do so.
• Adult content is permitted, but do NOT publish the submission if it includes such content. A friendly warning to the organizer is recommended.
• Second Level Crescents will be available to the top three placements, and Clusters of Ice will be applied in accordance with individual word counts.
