Prompt: The northernmost continent of Selen, icy, alpine Tunca, is a massive strand of glaciers, icy plains, cliffaces, and even some scattered alpine forestry. Miles and miles of ice and snow unblinking can give way suddenly to glacial crags and caverns, while clear skies can turn gray and dark with clouds. The settlement of Zainab and a handful of other structures dot the landscape. Wildlife suited to the snow can be spotted on occasion. And underneath the ice, and all around, is the frigid, depthless ocean teaming with marine life.

Through any available traditional or digital means, depict a landscape piece of Tunca or Zainab. This could be a flat plain of snow broken by a few figures, an underwater view of animals, a snapshot of the research town or the inside of an ice cave. Creativity is encouraged, including deciding for yourself what kind of flora or fauna the continent may have or how settlements are designed.

Stick figures are not allowed for this competition, and should have a minimum of two obvious landscape elements, so as to prevent any wamapas in a snow storm with only the eyes visible. However, if using any resources not your own such as stock photos, photomanipulations, screenshots, character builders from games, etc, the sources must be included and cited in the text box. Uncredited elements will result in disqualification. Additionally, as a special attempt with this competition to see how it goes, screenshots of a Minecraft build or build made in a similar building program will be allowed, but work must be shown to receive credit, such as progress shots hosted on imgur or similar site, with all programs and work cited in the text box.

Grading

Grading will be completed using the Herald Graphics Rubric. All image types are allowed, including but not limited to .jpeg, .png, etc. Only one file should be submitted to the site.

All participants will earn points for participation in the comp as well as Clusters of Graphite. Top three placements will earn additional points towards the overall competition. Points earned will be as follows:

• 1st place will receive 3 points
• 2nd place will receive 2 points
• 3rd place will receive 1 point
• Participation will earn 1 point.
