Prompt

Write a story about a time when your character's loyalty to a specific person (including themselves), belief, or institution had a major negative impact on their lives. For example, this could include a broken relationship (romantic, platonic or familial - blood or chosen family of course), a broken alliance, a broken promise, a lost item, etc. As long as you establish your character has a loyalty to something and it costs them something else of almost equal value, your story is considered a valid submission.

Rules

• 500 word minimum, no maximum.
• Entries will be graded using the Voice Fiction rubric.
• Snapshots of your chosen PoV character (main or alt NPCs) are required to be attached.
• Entries must be submitted in .docx, .doc, .pdf or copy and pasted into the competition submission box.
