In Character

Welcome to the Brotherhood Festival of Writing and the first annual Brotherhood Essay Contest! Over the next two months, you will be provided with questions on a variety of topics to do with the Old Republic, the Empire, the Rebellion, the New Republic and the Brotherhood. Take these questions and write the best essay you can. The winning essays from each week will be awarded with crescents while the best overall entries will receive further prizes and acclaim.

Out of Character

The competitions within this container all require you to write an essay of at least 500 words with no maximum that responds to the essay question prompt. This must be written in-character from the POV of your character to be eligible for participation and placement.

Instructions

• Each competition will contain an overall theme, for example The Empire. Under each theme there will be one or more essay questions for you to choose from. Choose your essay topic and start writing!
• You must write from the perspective of either your main or one of your alt/NPCs. If using an alt/NPC, please specify in your entry. No snapshot is required.
• You will earn 1 Cluster of Ice per 500 words.
• Submissions must be made via the text entry box, PDF or Word doc.
• Grading will be conducted using version 3 of the Voice Fiction Rubric.

Participation and Placement Points

Each individual will earn three points for every competition they enter. An additional three points will be awarded to the winner and two points will be awarded to each person who earns a crescent.

Event Placement

The top three overall will receive 2nd level crescents. In the event of a tie, winners will be decided on who has the better overall record. So for example player #1 with a win and two thirds, would place ahead of player #2 with three second place finishes.
