Everyone struggles with vice, just as everyone extols virtue. In this instance, however, we are exploring the vice of Envy. We all want something we can't have. Tell the story of a time your character was faced with this emotion and how they managed to deal with it in the end. Did they give in? Did they heroically stand against it?

Note:

The epilogue references the news post by Consul Darkhawk, “A New Knight Rises” written by Proconsul Muz Ashen. It includes a fictional ceremony for Veil’s knighting that I wanted to capture as part of this story. While the general flow of that story and the dialogue is used, I did rewrite it for my own purposes. I have also contacted both Darkhawk and Muz to receive permission to make use of it. I wasn’t sure how this would count towards the plagiarism rules for competitions, so I wanted to make special mention of it.
