Now that Hoth has been promoted to an official noble house of the Vatali Empire, certain expectations are placed on the Jedi, soldiers, and assorted rogues of Odan-Urr that joined the renewed House. Including the most dreaded of all trials: Politics.

Empress Kaltani is throwing a lavish ball in Voraskel Palace, and as a noble house, all members of Hoth are expected to attend. To refuse would be a grave public slight.

In 500 words or more, describe how your character navigates the tense political sphere that is a Vatali ball. Do you flit like a social butterfly, fitting in perfectly with this new social strata? Work to forge alliances with the other noble houses? Commit some social faux pas that results in humiliation? And perhaps most importantly of all: What are you wearing?

Submissions will be graded using the Standard Fiction Grading Rubric.

The top three submissions will be awarded Fourth Level Crescents as per the usual.
