Your strike team is faced with a cave deep into the barren rocky plateau of the island, Aytambawanchac. Within it lies the unknown Kauit. They have remained quiet so far, the supposed Farsight master evading notice until the embers of war had become ashes blown to the wind. How does your character, with or without their strike team, approach and handle encountering Kauit? Do they go in aiming to kill or capture? Do they negotiate with them, offer a chance to leave or ally? Or perhaps with some other scheme up their sleeve?
Kauit
The Ancient God of Time & Space. Kauit is a nonbinary Fosh Sith, one of the ‘False Gods’. More scholar and prophet than ruler or warrior, Kauit’s visions helped keep the False Gods’ reign secure for years until the others became too absorbed with their power and dismissed them, leading up to the inevitable overthrow centuries ago.
Aytambawanchac
A barren plateau of an island North of the main three Tri’Aigul Islands, named after their people’s believed King of the spirits whom Kauit had acted as the voice of centuries ago, taking advantage of their tropical colored feathers relating to the spirit. Ancient stone sketches depicting the King and the other spirits, their tales, lead the pathway from the high cliff lined shores, over the rocky land to a large hole in the island referred to as the King’s Den in basic. A seemingly bottomless pit that opens up into a cavern deep within Aytambawanchac. This is where Kauit had once taken up residence and preached their visions from the mouth of, and where they still sit now waiting.
You may work solo or as teams of 2 with any DB member, but only participating members of Clan Arcona can place. Use coloured text with labelling at the top to display who wrote what.
This competition will be grading using the Fiction Grading Rubric 3.0 with ties being broken by organiser preference. A minimum of 500 words and a valid character sheet snapshot are required for placement. If co-oping, both members must hit 500 words and have contributed a reasonably equal amount to the fiction. While we do not expect a 50/50 split, if 75% or more of the word count is only one member then the member with the lesser word count will lose eligibility to place.
Only one member of a team should submit the fiction.
Remember to ask for permission to use other people’s characters, and that if your fiction goes over the bounds of PG-13 rating, to hide your entry.
Please submit as a PDF only.
