[SoaE - Event Long] The Emotions We Feel

War. Something that some people look forward to, either as a combatant to wreak havoc against their enemies or for the fun of it, or as support to try and piece everything back together after the combatant's have made their way through. Others, dread the thought of it and wish it could be avoided at all costs. Regardless, it is seen and experienced differently by everyone. And with this being the beginning, all things have a start.

Using any locale within the Caelus system, or a self-created area within the Neutral Zone or Seitia Sector, your task is to write a fiction of at least 500 words or more with a 3000 word limit using one or more of your characters that goes into detail on what your character would be doing during this tumultuous time and how they feel emotionally about it.

Would they be on the front lines in the thick of it? Holding back in the Caelus system doing tasks of their own, or helping with the war preparation effort? Being accosted for being a Loyalist or a Traditionalist? Doing mercenary work or helping the civilian populace? And do they feel excited about everything they are doing/is going on? Happy? Saddened or depressed? Homesick? See something that greatly troubles them or reinforces their conviction?

The choice is yours. Establish your character in this troubled time, and define your story. All submissions, if the writer wishes it, can be used as official Taldryan canon.

All submissions will be graded using the Voice Fiction Scoring Rubric 3.0.
