Background

It's Sithmas on Seraph once again! The new Empress has gone all out this year. Flickering candles, bonfires, twinkling lights, festive feasting, time with family and friends, and the traditional lighting of the tree inside the Monolith. As we approach the end of the year, this series of friendly competitions has been laid out for the Clan to earn some extra credits! Participate in any number of the competitions and determine who has been naughty and who has been nice. The celebration is to last all month long. May the magick of the season bless you and yours with the Dark Side. Happy Yule and Merry Sithmas to all!

Scoring:

Each individual will earn five (5) points per event they participate in. Participation is defined as a valid submission for an event. Simply signing up for an event or uploading an unqualified submission will not count. In addition to participation points, the top three individuals in each competition will earn placement modifier points.

• First place will earn 4 points
• Second place will earn 3 points
• Third place will earn 2 points
• All other placements (4th+) will earn 1 point

Events themselves will have modifiers based on their perceived difficulty/level of effort required.

• The modifier for fiction will be 3
• The modifier for gaming/graphics will be 2
• No modifier will be added to puzzles/member hunt/flash events

Grading formula: (Placement Score * Event Modifier) + Participation = Event Score

Point ties will be broken by comparing the number and position of finishes within the sub-competitions. e.g., If two participants have 30 points and Player A has two first place finishes and Player B has one first place and one second place the tie is broken in favor of Player A. At the end of the competition, the individual scores for all sub-competitions will be added up, and the top three individuals will earn crescents for the overall competition.

Those outside the Clan are welcome to participate but crescents are reserved for CSP members only.
