Western March Phase 5: Declaration

Campaign #1

The Western March of Clan Odan-Urr:

Hostilities resume between the renegade Vauzem forces and the Vatali-Odanite Cohort for the fate of Quermia.

The Breakdown:

The war wages its fiercest as many believe it is nearing its end. Support for the Vauzem separatists has waned, with no formal support from the Sephi on Kiast and the arrival of further O.U.S.C. Naval support to blockade the Perlemian Trade Route, which effectively cut off Hyperspace travel into and out of the system. The toll of the war has weighed heavily on the people of Quermia, as well, as it disrupted their everyday lives and incited chaos and panic across a once pacifistic people. As the first year's anniversary of the conflict quickly approaches, the Quermian people have chosen a side, backing the support their governors reached for. They now fight alongside the Odanite contingent which aims to return Quermia to normalcy.

The Fiction:

The whole of the Third Fleet had arrived alongside contingents of the First and the Jedi Temple's Reserve Fleet in orbit of Quermia's star, forming a flotilla that reported from key points across the system's Lagrange points as they monitored hyperspace travel into and out of the system. Engagements with the Vauzem Separatists were still rampant in the planet Quermia's orbit, as smaller vessels attempted to flee from the surface or engaged the O.U.S.C. forces utilizing hit-and-run tactics. Overwhelming naval supremacy had been established in a matter of weeks once word of The Peacekeeper's destruction had reached Kiast, as the threat of what had been believed to be a minor threat was quickly escalated and further forces were released to the front.

Vauzem officers, proud Imperialist Sephi who stood against the so-called 'illegitimate' rule of Empress Kaltani Anasaye and her kin were fielding a mix of like-minded Sephi and mercenaries, trained and sold as soldiers to their cause by an unknown supplier. These forces had been the primary basis of the O.U.S.C. and the Acolyte of Urr's threat level assessment, unaware that they had the keys to activating the Droid Manufactories left behind on Quermia after the CIS occupation decades prior. These manufactories would later serve to create over two-thirds of the Vauzem forces.

Now, eight months into the war, the O.U.S.C. has turned their focus primarily towards disabling the manufactories through several concentrated pushes against ever-increasing odds, as they engage mixed brigades of Droids commanded by Vauzem officers in an attempt to bring the war to a swift end.
