Mal'ari'carun and the Fourty Thieves
For the past several years, Ektrosis has possessed the greatest of all Jedi relics: the Orb of Pojema. Housed within the Temple of Pojema, this Orb is pure Kaliburr Crystal, able to significantly enhance and focus the Force Powers of an individual or group. It was the highest honor of any Ektrosian, upon being appointed Quaestor, to assume guardianship of the Orb. Now, it has been stolen.
This will be a multi-phase competition wherein the Quaestor will provide an innitial "crime-scene report" in the form of a narrative. This narrative will provide the innitial clues as to who is responsible for the theft of the Orb. Furthermore, the Quaestor will provide periodical updates to the report as the state of the Temple is further examined and additional evidence comes to light. The members of Ektrosis will use this information and their own imaginations to complete the 5 phases of this competition, as they are detailed below.
Phase One: Desecration Participants will write their own short report of the crime scene in which they discuss all the information they believe to be relevant to the crime itself and what leads them to believe so. *Time Allotted: Four Days *Medium: Text document. Additional points to be awarded for original graphics submissions of the crime scene itself. *Awards: Standard Crescents for placement in House competitions.
Phase Two: Lament Participants will detail the grief of the House over the loss of the Artifact, either through poetry or graphics. *Time Allotted: Three days *Medium: Poem (text document) or graphics. *Awards: Standard Crescents for placement in House competitions.
Phase Three: Arraignment Participants will "point the finger" at who they believe committed the crime. They will be required to submit the Name and Dossier # of that person, as well as all evidence and their analysis thereof which suggests this person is guilty. The winners will be picked based on who is right and proves it the best. An additional Cr-E will be awarded to the best "conspiracy theory" (ie: they guessed the wrong person but had a great deal of evidence to support their conclusion). *Time Allotted: Seven Days *Medium: Text Document *Awards: Standard Crescents for placement in House competitions; Cr-E
Phase Four: Confrontation Participants will write a narrative detailing an encounter in which they confront the thief. This encounter should include not only the confrontation itself, but the events which lead up to it and its resolution. Alternately, a member can submit a set of original images which show the above in a comic book-like style. *Time Allotted: Four Days *Medium: Text Document or graphics. *Awards: Standard Crescents for placement in House competitions.
Phase Five: Exultation Participants will write a poem or submit an original work of art which details the rejoicing following the successful recovery of the Orb. *Time Allotted: Three Days *Medium: Text Document or graphics. *Awards: Standard Crescents for placement in House competitions.
Total Competition Run-time: Three Weeks
Please approve this quickly, as I'd like to get it in before the Great Jedi War.
Identical to Mal'ari'carun's Character Development Extravaganza.
Individual events: Standard House Crescents (except for Phase 3 which gives a Cr-E for best "conspiracy theory".
Over-all Awards: 1)StA 2)DC 3)Cr-1A Honorable Mention -- Cr-1S -- (in the event that a particular participant significantly distinguishes him/herself above that of the other participants but, due to lack of participation in the majority of events, is ineligable for over-all Awards).
